Combineer een wandeltocht door Thessaloniki met een van de leukste dingen om te doen in de stad, het proeven van authentieke lokale lekkernijen. Probeer onmisbare Griekse gerechten zoals traditioneel "koulouri" (rond brood), bougatsa (gebak met verschillende vullingen), pitta's, gevulde sandwiches en ook lokale zoetigheden. Ontmoet elkaar in de haven van Thessaloniki en ga dan naar een oude bakkerij - een verborgen juweeltje dat al drie generaties staat, voor de eerste stop. Proef wat typisch Grieks ontbijtgebakjes en snacks en ga dan naar de open markt van de stad. Door kleine straatjes en steegjes vol geschiedenis kom je aan bij de "Kapani" (open van maandag tot zaterdag), een levendige, kleurrijke en historische plek. Als je klaar bent met rondslenteren over de markt, proef je wat origineel straatvoedsel en krijg je de kans om interessante verhalen van je gids te horen. Een gedenkwaardige tour die u niet mag missen en culinaire lekkernijen combineert met cultuur! Gelieve ons vooraf op de hoogte te stellen van eventuele speciale dieetwensen of allergieën.

We wandelen door de oude wijk Ladadika waar we een traditioneel ontbijt zullen proeven.
Een korte stop voor een kopje koffie in de onbekende parel van de stad.
Op weg naar het Athonosplein komen we langs een van de handelsmerken van de stad
We zullen de gerenoveerde voedselmarkt van Thessaloniki verkennen.
Door kleine straatjes en steegjes vol geschiedenis kom je aan bij de "Kapani" (open van maandag tot zaterdag), een levendige, kleurrijke en historische plek. Proeverijen tijdens de lunch op onze favoriete plek op de markt.

This was such a great tour! We got to experience some yummy treats Thessaloniki is known for and had such a knowledgeable guide that gave us great insight into the city and Greek life. Definitely recommend! It felt like visiting a friend

Pantelis was very knowledgeable about the history of Thessaloniki. He took us to several nice locations to taste local foods and coffee. He was sympathetic to the heat of the day and tried to keep us in the shade while he talked.

We loved this tour! Our small group of 4 learned all about Greek food and culture while walking around the city. Highlights includes Bougasta (Greek breakfast pastry) with sweet and savory fillings and soutzoukakia (spiced fried meatballs with lamb and beef).

My guide, Pantelis was a great guy, very knowledgeable about street food, local and the regional area. I was interested in not just the street food but also the local history and culture. Pantelis very easily handled my questions and pointed out many interesting historical area and gave me the cultural perspective of the sites, their restoration and in some cases why they weren’t restored. The food was excellent, especially since I now have had hotel food and other tourist presented meals. Pantelis was very generous with his time to show me around. I should also say that my flight was delayed and Pantelis adjusted the time of the tour to accommodate since it was a solo tour.

This was a great tour! Pantelis is the kind of guide who instantly makes you feel comfortable. While my tour ended up being essentially an private tour, even if the group were larger, I’m sure he’d still make it feel completely personal and bespoke. It was the perfect way way to get oriented in the city while trying truly authentic Greek food. Nothing felt touristy or rushed. Later that night, when I mentioned the places we visited / food we ate to local Greek friends, they all agreed it sounded exactly like how they grew up eating! If you want an authentic and fun introduction to the city that feels more like hanging out with a friend than being on a tour, I highly recommend this one!
