Uw Gids koppelt elke proeverij aan een uitstekende wijn die de pintxo complimenteert. Wijnen die wij aanbevelen zijn onder andere rode wijn uit La Rioja, Txakoli (een licht mousserende witte wijn uit de Baskische kust), en meer!

-We zullen doen wat de Basken doen! Een bar-hopping-tour door Bilbao. Wij (de Baskische bevolking!) tonen onze liefde voor gastronomie met deze lekkere kleine hapjes. -We zullen de speciale pintxos proberen, degene die je niet op de bars ziet! Ik bestel ze voor je en de chef maakt ze direct voor je. -We gaan de traditionele pintxos proeven en ook anderen die AWARDS hebben gekregen in de beroemde pintxo-wedstrijden. Je zult tijdens deze tour alles ervaren wat Bilbao te bieden heeft met stops bij zeer moderne bars en ook bij enkele van de oudste bars in de stad! -Ik zal je leren hoe je pintxos kunt bestellen. Na mijn rondleiding heb je het vertrouwen om in elke bar in de stad te gaan! -Ik combineer de pintxos met een wijn die het meest geschikt is voor het soort voedsel dat we ervaren. We zullen tijdens deze tour rode en witte wijn, cider en andere drankjes proeven. -Ik ken de beste bars in mijn stad en wat ik moet bestellen, want ik ben geboren en getogen in Bilbao!

We had a fantastic guide, she was knowledgeable and very entertaining. Tour was well paced with a tasty and interesting assortment of Pintxos with paired wines. Enjoyed having time to sit at each location to chat with other tour mates. Learned a lot about the Basque culture and history. Well worth doing.
Leire shared her wonderful Basque knowledge, passion and pride on this fabulous tour. She brought us to 5 different locations for different and delicious pintxos, along with a local wine or cider - always bringing the food and drink back to her fascinating Basque heritage and culture.

Our evening with Leire in Bilbao was the perfect way to understand some of the eating and drinking habits of the Basque people. We were treated to some fabulous Pinxos and matching Basque wine and given some light hearted but key historical facts by Leire, who really know her stuff. Highly recommended tour.
What a fantastic food tour! Highly recommend for the beginning of your trip to Bilbao/the Basque Country in general. A wonderful assortment of pintxos, both classics and unique specialties from specific bars. Our guide, Leire, was amazing at explaining history, the area, and wines/pintxos with enthusiasm and fun. My husband and I had a great time and believe the cost is well worth the value of the experience.

Highly recommended! In 2.5 hours we visited five bars in the old town of Bilbao, each with its own authentic atmosphere and in perfect locations. Everywhere we got a drink and two pintxos — the snacks were all tasty and varied, and the drinks changed nicely: white wine, cider, rosé and red wine. What really made the tour special was our enthusiastic guide Lia. As a proud Basque, she talked about her childhood, and how her parents and grandparents dealt with the ban on speaking their language. Important events were also discussed, such as the great flood of 1983 and the opening of the Guggenheim as a turning point in Bilbao's revival. She was friendly, genuinely interested in everyone, which helped the atmosphere in the group. We did the tour with our two daughters (22 and 20) and their partners — a party for everyone. Food, drink, history and socializing in one evening. We'd go right back.
We went on a pintxos tour on our first day in Bilbao with Leire. Leire took us to 5 bars to sample various pintxos and wine, and gave us more background on the Basque region, its history, people and culture. She was very friendly and full of energy. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour.
We booked this food and wine tour hoping to be introduced to the local pintxos and bar culture. Our guide, Leire offered this and so much more. She was enthusiastic about Basque history and culture, and was knowledgeable about the local food scene. Would highly recommend this tour.
