If you want to do something terrible to yourself about music, go to the performance. Otherwise, take a big bow around the theatre and enjoy life.. absolutely wasted time..the great comments are completely incomprehensible
This water puppet show is really awesome. One of the main attractions in Hanoi, Vietnam. This is unique and everyone should enjoy this program. This 45 minute show also projects the traditional culture of Vietnam. Strongly recommended.
While the concept was unique and the live music was enjoyable, we found the show a bit repetitive after a while. The puppetry skills were impressive, but the lack of English narration made it hard to follow the stories. It's a decent way to spend an evening, but don't set your expectations too high. Arrive early to get good seats, as the theatre can get quite crowded.
Visiting the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology in Hanoi was a truly enjoyable experience. The museum is incredibly detailed and engaging, and the staff are extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. I highly recommend a visit for anyone looking for a fun and informative day out!
Worth a visit but the museum is tired. The museum gives a good flavour for the diversity of Vietnam and a sense of how each community lives. Quite a few of the exhibits are rather tired - with grainy video (10-15 years old?). Updating and adding more video would make the museum much more engaging by making the ethnography live. The exhibit on elephants, more recent, was a fresher exhibit.
Wonderful museum. Fascinating displays. Very well presented. The outdoor displays were particularly good.
This was a very interesting place to learn about the different groups within Vietnam. Loved the architectural garden where you could see replica houses. Nice cafe and gift shops were well presented. Don't miss the Kite building ( not flying kites).
Wow such a vast amount of information and history around the whole place. The outside section really does make it feel as though your walking through history and it shows you how people live all across the country.
This museum focuses on the 54 officially recognized ethnic group in Vietnam, there many things which was used by Vietnamese people in ancient times, the museum has collection of more than 30,000 objects shown in display.
We went on a museum spree while in Hanoi as it was during a heatwave! This was hands down the best and most unexpected museum in Hanoi. The musuem bit was good- great explanations and articles to look at. The cafe was ace- super arty and decorated with great ornaments. Drinks were a bit pricey but delicious. Where the museum went from average to outstanding...the back area where the house of different groups were on display. Some of the houses were donated from families- so when you go inside, you can imagine a real family having lived there. All the houses were to size and you could literally enter into them all including one which was on stills. Amazing experience to see, touch and be in the houses esp when they were all so different from one another.
