Ga buiten de gebaande paden naar de levendige Testaccio Market Rome en wandel door de schilderachtige straatjes die het omringen. Ervaar een reis door alle smaken van Rome en leg het authentieke karakter vast van een van de charmantste onontdekte wijken van de stad. Bezoek verkopers die hun vak al tientallen jaren perfectioneren : van het telen van het meest verse fruit en kruiden, tot het bakken van het meest verse brood, en kijk dan hoe ze voor je worden gecombineerd om bruschetta en caprese salade te maken met verse buffelmozerella, precies daar op de markt. Ga vervolgens verder de omliggende buurt in, proef uniek Romeins straatvoedsel en sluit af met wat velen omschrijven als de beste ijs die ze ooit hebben gegeten.

Stap in een van de meest authentieke buurtmarkten van Rome. Je proeft vers gehakte tomaten gekleed met olijfolie, basilicum en knoflook, dan een klassieke bruschetta, een zijdezachte buffelmozzarella en tomatencaprese, en tot slot een knapperige supplì (Rome's geliefde gebakken rijstbal), gecombineerd met een koud biertje.
Stap binnen in de iconische trattoria uitgehouwen in de oude Monte Testaccio heuvel en ontdek de drie meest gevierde pasta's van Rome: de romige Carbonara, de gedurfde Amatriciana en de scherpe, peperige Cacio e Pepe.

A great expirience overall! Our tour leader Valeria was really nice and knowledgeable about the gastronomy of Rome. For example she arranged a vegeterian meal for me at every stop with a smile on her face ❤️ I would recommend this tour 100%.

Dario was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job showing us around the area. The variety of food options was terrific. The tour was well priced for how long the the tour was. The small group size allowed for an intimate atmosphere.

You’ll eat plenty on this Testaccio food tour. Our excellent guide Walter, educated us on the history of the area as we walked. At our first stop we enjoyed a selection of cheeses and cured meat from across Italy, including an outstanding truffle balsamic. A delicious bruschetta was among our many tastings from the Testaccio Market. There was almost no room for the tasty pasta selections served at Flavio al Velavevodetto but that didn’t stop us. Yum. The day was a warm so finishing with an exquisite gelato from Giolitta was divine. A wonderful experience.

This was quite an interesting food tour. The stops combined local restaurants, as well as a trip to see a pyramid within a cemetery. It certainly is not your typical food tour however we had a totally enjoyable time. We had stops featuring wines, cured meats, cheese, plus delicious chocolate. We had a stop at the market, which featured delicious fresh tomatoes, bruschetta, and a delicious supli. This contained rice, cheese, a little meat and flavored with tomato sauce, surrounded by a croquette. Far better than Arancini. Then onto the cemetery and the pyramid. Well, we didn't know what to think about this when it was announced that we were going there however, it soon became clear the history of this pyramid and its intended occupant. You'll have to take the tour to understand the history of this pyramid built in 80 BC, how it came to be, and what came of the intended occupant. Then it was off to a delicious Italian restaurant that was built one level under a terra-cotta mountain. You must learn about this story of the terra-cotta. We had three courses of pasta that included carbonara, Cacio e Pepe, and Amatriciana. These were all paired with delicious red and white wine. We toasted our tour guide Dario with the delicious wine. Then to end up the tour, we visited a delicious Gelato shop The tour was conducted by Dario. He is quite knowledgeable and interesting tour guide. We had many lively interesting discussions of historical figures as well as the toods, preparations and wines.
