Dit is niet zomaar een tour — het is een ontworpen ervaring. Onder leiding van een gecertificeerde lokale Gids verken je Teotihuacán buiten de oppervlakte, waarbij je niet alleen de geschiedenis begrijpt, maar ook de diepere betekenis achter de architectuur, energie en symboliek. Voordat we naar de piramides gaan, maken we een stop bij een van de populairste bakkerijen van Mexico-Stad, waar u een kopje koffie en iets lekkers voor onderweg kunt pakken. We gaan verder dan de hoofdpiramides. Je bezoekt Tetitla, een oude barrio waar bewaard gebleven muurschilderingen onthullen hoe mensen ooit leefden, terwijl de atmosfeer nog steeds de diepere essentie van deze grote beschaving in zich draagt. Kleine groepen, authentieke storytelling en een meer persoonlijke benadering maken deze ervaring exclusief, zelfs in een gedeelde setting. Als je op zoek bent naar iets echts, betekenisvols en onvergetelijks - dit is het.

We maken een speciale stop bij een van de meest iconische bakkerijen van Roma, een lokale favoriet waar u kunt genieten van een geweldige koffie en iets lekkers voor de komende reis.
Nu is het tijd om richting Teotihuacán te gaan. Als we Mexico-Stad verlaten, zie je de overgang tussen drie lagen van Mexico - het land, de bruisende hoofdstad en de staat Mexico. Onderweg zie je hoe de landschappen, architectuur en het dagelijks leven beginnen te veranderen, waardoor je een dieper perspectief op de regio krijgt voordat je aankomt in de oude stad.
Je bezoekt de archeologische site van Teotihuacán met een gecertificeerde Gids, waar je de kans hebt om te klimmen en de ware omvang van deze oude stad te bewonderen. We wandelen langs de Avenue of the Dead, bezoeken de Piramide van de Zon en stappen in Tetitla, een oude barrio waar muurschilderingen onthullen hoe deze grote beschaving ooit leefde.
Tot slot ontdek je een van de mooiste en krachtigste tempels van Teotihuacán — de Tempel van de Gevederde Slang. Daarna keren we terug naar Mexico-Stad, waardoor deze reis rond is, met een diepere waardering voor deze oude beschaving.

Had so much fun was such a beautiful experience. We had a great guide who got us good deals and was very knowledgeable about the city. Our Spanish wasn't great, so it was very helpful that he was bilingual. We had so much fun and took so many pictures with the statues and buildings and saw a lot of beautiful churches.

We had such a great time! Hermes took us all over Mexico City and taught us all about its history. He knew everything and everyone. You can tell he’s passionate about history and also makes sure you get to see everything you want. He knows the best spots too, whether it’s for tacos, churros, or souvenirs!

Bruno and Kevin were so hospitable, offering so much fascinating information about the area while we were driving. They took care to make sure everyone had water and other needs met. At one point I fell and seriously hurt my knee, so Kevin drove us to a pharmacy and then tended to my wound. Somehow, Bruno kept the tour on time and fun for everyone!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. It was so convenient to have a central pick up point, stop for a coffee and pastry and then have a comfortable ride to Teotihuacan. We heard a bit about the greater Mexico City area on the way. It was great to show up to the site at opening time because it was quiet and cool. We also got to visit a lesser known site to see more about how people lived. Gio was so knowledgeable. Not only did he share a lot of context and information about what we were seeing, but he also shared information about the history and currently challenges related to uncovering the temples. He clearly has a deep wealth of knowledge because he also shared the wider context of Mesoamerican history and archaeology and answered many questions. I couldn’t recommend this tour more.

Our tour consisted of our family of 3, a couple, and Hermes (our guide). We rode comfortably in Hermes’ vehicle, which fit all six of us. His car has air conditioning and he provided us with bottles of water. We started with a stop at Panaderia Rosetta, so that we could buy coffee and bread for the ride. The drive was about 45 minutes at that time (7am) of morning. Hermes allowed us different opportunities to use the bathroom. Of course, the tour itself was great. He is very knowledgeable and because we had a small group, we could ask questions as they came up. After visiting the three pyramids, Hermes took us to a nearby barrio with ancient hieroglyphics on the walls. We also stopped for water, snacks, and a bathroom break before heading back to CDMX. We met Hermes at 7am, and were back at our meeting point by 2pm. I plan to recommend Hermes to anyone who plans a visit. ¡Gracias, Hermes!
