The tour cost 110 euros each (about 400 NZD. For that we were taken to 3 temple locations, tickets were incl, but were left to find our way around with audio downloads. No guides at all. Our driver Kenneth was lovely but didn't have the level of knowledge to round out the info we got from the audio downloads. The temples were fantastic and we did get an extra visit overlooking blue grotto and because couldn't go to one place it was replaced with another. Kennet was great and we did have a great chat with him and he even stopped so we could get lunch. But this tour was too expensive for what was included. For comparison we did a full day tour today, with an excellent guide, substantial sit down lunch included with lots of stops and paid $280 NZD.
The temples we visited were great, however the service could have been much better. Our driver showed up 20 minutes late, blaming the traffic. She being o local, should have known how much time she needed for the drive. During driving she spoke constantly to someone people, drove carelessly, speeding and taking curves at high speed. Also, we had no guide or advice how to visit. If this was not included in this very expensive tour, maybe should be in the future. We don’t have the name of the driver, but the license plate vehicle was FLY 505.
Kenneth was amazing. He not only took us to the Temples but drove through Malta to show us so many other sites that would be part of another tour. To top it off, we had tix to the Hypogeum and he did not want us to overpay on a taxi later that day so he took us there and back to hotel at no charge
Driver was very good, prompt on pick up/drop off, walked us through what to expect at each location. Gave a lot of information about the area. We got through two of the ruins early, (they’re next to each other) so as we had time at the end, he made sure we got to see some other sights. Driver was Duncan so would request him again
My sister and I really enjoyed our temple tour. Not only were we taken to all the main stops, but we also had several other fun stops along the way. Two of these stops included the Blue Grotto and St. Paul's Catacombs. Our driver, Kenneth (I apologize if I misspelled his name), was very kind and made the stops mentioned previously since he had free time at the end of the tour. I really recommend taking this tour. My sister wanted to add that she agrees that our tour guide was very nice and welcoming. She also recommends the tour.
Our private tour provided low stress, hotel pick-up and drop off, and enabled us to see all the temples, including the Rabat catacombs, in comfort, in just 5 hours. The temperature was 30'C, so it was nice to cool down in the vehicle after walking through the outdoor sites. As we were fortunate to avoid line-ups, our driver also took us up to the Dingli Cliffs viewpoint and gave us the opportunity to take a short boat ride to the beautiful Blue Grotto. The tour is very expensive but was a great way to focus on the activities we were most interested in. Note this tour does not include the Hypogeum. We didn't have time to use the wi-fi, and purchased our own water. Do your research in advance as the driver does not provide factual information about the sites, nor does he accompany you on the tour. He was however, punctual, a good driver, friendly and answered all our questions.
The Temples tour was very enjoyable. We were picked on time by our guide Jason in a beautiful air conditioned car ,we were supplied with water . Jason was very helpful and very informative answering lots of questions . The trip to the temples was very interesting and it was amazing to think how old they were ! The trip also included a visit to a Roman house ,catacombs ,cave and the National museum of History which is in Mdina . Overall the tour was excellent .
Good, on time and friendly tour driver. Young manager/ owner needs to pass on the agreed customer list of wishes/ places to visit and see to the tour driver, in advance. After taking the trouble and time to make up a list for this private tour and agreed with the young manager/ owner in advance, nothing was pass on to the tour drive, which was disappointing. Driver just showed us, what seemed to be a standard list….and we had to take time to go through what was on the list on the day…..etc. Further customers: 1) BRING a copy of what was agreed. Fortunately, we did and I showed the tour driver - so all good, for planning/ timing purposes on/ for the day 2) Read a bit more on the places you wish to go, as the private tour person is more a driver than a tour guide. He was very nice, very polite and on time though, which was great
Very professional and personable driver. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the sites we visited. Relaxed plan for the tour and felt free to visit other sites. Ample time to discover the sites and take many photos. Snacks provided during trip were a nice touch. Highly recommend this tour!
We booked this as something we hadn’t seen or looked into before. I must say it was well worth it. We expected this to be a tour on a bus( like most others) however we had a private escort, who was a very lovely man. Due to the time of year (off peak) not a lot of museums were opened. Which wasn’t the tour guides fault (they closed early) but the tour guide and the manager done everything in their power to ensure we had a great experience. We then were carted to other areas in which we wouldn’t have seen otherwise. Very friendly and accommodating. Great guide. Great service, and would definitely recommend. Ps. This is not like your usual guides who would take you around every little detail and explain it all (can get quite boring depending on the type of person you are). You are explained to where you are, there are books in the car you can read, and your left to your own devices - so if your a couple, ideal for still keeping the nice romantic walks/experiences together, without worrying about a tour guide.
