Taormina, Savoca en Castelmola: bezoek de schoonheid van deze drie beroemde steden op Sicilië, beginnend bij "The Godfather" -landschap!

Onze eerste stad van de eendaagse tour is Savoca, een karakteristiek middeleeuws stadje. We bezoeken een van de fascinerende catacomben van het Cappuccini-klooster waar de gemummificeerde lichamen van monniken en edelen uit Savoca zijn gehuisvest. De bar Vitelli is het hoogtepunt van de tour: beroemd worden in de scènes van de film The Godfather, hier kun je een heerlijke Siciliaanse granita en kijk naar de foto's genomen tijdens de opnames van de film.
Onze tweede stad is het majestueuze Taormina. U kunt hier een bezoek brengen aan het Griekse theater (ticket is niet bij de prijs inbegrepen), een van de belangrijkste oude locaties op Sicilië, met een uniek panoramisch uitzicht op de zee en de Etna. Als u langs de Corso Umberto loopt, kunt u de kathedraal bezoeken en genieten van het adembenemende uitzicht op de baai van Capo Taormina. Hier in Taormina kunt u genieten van een gratis Siciliaanse snack: heerlijke proeverij van typische producten uit de Siciliaanse culinaire traditie, zoals de beroemde "tavola calda - warme tafel". . Je eet verschillende arancini, pizza, calzoni, met Siciliaanse Doc-wijn.
De volgende stop is in Castelmola, een karakteristieke middeleeuwse buitenwijk tussen de lucht en de zee. Castelmola wordt beschouwd als een groot balkon op Taormina, ook hier kunt u genieten van een fantastisch uitzicht op de Etna aan de ene kant en de Ionische zee aan de andere. Vanaf het plein Sant'Antonio begint onze wandeling in de steegjes. Rond de kleine straatjes is het mogelijk om kleine winkeltjes te zien die souvenirs, veters en borduursels verkopen, gemaakt door lokale vrouwen. Ten slotte is de laatste stop in Castelmola het bezoek aan de "Bar Turrisi", een zeer typische bar voor een goede koffie of een proeverij van amandelwijn, typisch Siciliaanse dessertwijn.

This tour was an absolute highlight of our trip! Savoca is a stunning, tranquil Italian gem, and lunch in Castelmola was truly superb. Taormina completely lived up to the hype, but the best part was our guide, Damiano. His extensive knowledge of all things Sicily made the experience unforgettable.
This tour was excellent. The pace was just right and our tour guide Damiano was excellent. He gave us information the entire trip while driving some very perilous roads.
Great wat to see these towns, no parking or traffic hastles, and they know exactly where to go. The scenery along the way to the towns is as good as the towns themselves. Would have been nice to have some more photo opportunities, but I guess it's hard to stop. A very worthwhile, scenic, historical and interesting tour, well worth doing. A lot (lot!!) of tourists.
The tour guide Damiano was absolutely incredible. Very good driver in a busy city. The experience was greatly enhanced by his knowledge. Having a trip that hits the 3 cities in 1 day with a lunch was perfect and well executed. The price was very reasonable. Would be great for a big or small group. Ultimately the guide made the experience fabulous

We spent a lovely day visiting these small towns. All had beautiful views and worth a visit. Our driver/tour guide was wonderful and gave good insights and brief history of site. Taormina was beautiful but really a huge tourist trap.

Wonderful tour. Loved all the places we visited. The included lunch was so delicious! Guides Mateo & Diego were friendly and so knowledgeable. Nice we had free time as well. Would highly recommend.
It's a very hilly drive, so be prepared for the turns as well as the scenery. Savoca was a peaceful delight, but a lot of climbing uphill. Castelmola was quiet but compact. And Taormina was a crowded outdoor shopping mall that used to be a real town. The guide had some information for us, but was mainly just a driver. It's still worth the motion sickness to see the three towns in one day.
