Een dag om de schatten en schoonheden van de twee belangrijkste steden in het oosten van Sicilië te ontdekken: Syracuse (Ortigia) en Noto. Ontdek de Siciliaanse barok om de plechtigheid van tijdloze plaatsen te ademen.

De excursie begint met een bezoek aan de Neàpolis in Syracuse, het beroemde archeologische park op het platteland. De site met onder andere het Griekse theater, het oor van Dionisio en de Latomie. Het bezoek duurt ongeveer anderhalf uur.
De Syracuse en Noto Tour brengen je vervolgens naar het mooie schiereiland Ortigia. Vanaf de ruïnes van de tempel van Apollo begint je wandeling door de typische straten. U komt aan op Piazza Duomo met zijn prachtige witte kathedraal "Nativity of Mary Most Holy". Kerk gebouwd op de oude Griekse tempel van de godin Athena. De wandeling gaat verder naar de Fonte Aretusa en de prachtige promenade. Hier in Ortigia bieden wij u een rijke snack op basis van de Siciliaanse warme tafel, vergezeld van water en Etna-wijn. Of, als je wilt, heb je een uur vrije tijd om te lunchen in een van de vele karakteristieke restaurants in de steegjes van de stad.
Na de lunch gaat u verder richting Noto, de laatste halte van de Syracuse en Noto Tour. Juweelstad Siciliaanse barok, UNESCO-erfgoed samen met andere locaties in de Val di Noto. Noto wordt beschouwd als een "openluchtmuseum". Hier bezoekt u het hoofdgerecht dat binnenkomt vanaf de Royal Gate. Als u doorgaat, komt u bij de kerk van San Francesco vanaf de majestueuze trappen en het Palazzo Ducezio, gelegen aan de Piazza del Municipio. Bewonder de vele kerken en de vele paleizen, men kan niet anders dan de Moederkerk bezoeken met het bisschoppelijk paleis en de kerk van San Salvatore. Een bezoek aan het Nicolaci-paleis met zijn sierbalkons die de neo-barokstijl symboliseren, is ook onvermijdelijk. Noto wordt beschouwd als de hoofdstad van de Siciliaanse barok en het bezoeken ervan betekent de plechtigheid ademen van een tijdloze plek die zich lijkt te hebben vastgezet in de zachte lokale steen.

Bus tickets bought from traveling.com site were easier to understand and included maps showing bus stop locations. The Interbus ticketing process was more confusing and had no maps of the stops.
Giovanni was extremely knowledgeable about the area and places visited and was a good communicator. He ensured that any questions were answered and kept things interesting during the ride. Ortigia and Noto are beautiful towns with interesting architecture and history.
Super patients and professionals is not the first time we rely on them and as always we remain satisfied we recommend them.

An excellent day trip. Lots of history and beautiful architecture. Our guide Danilo was exceptional. He was very informative and worked hard to please everyone in two languages. He was very knowledgeable. We visited the ruins at Neapolis then Ortigia where we walked the town and had some free time. Finally we went to the picturesque town of Noto. Lunch was good at a modest restaurant in Syracuse.
Even though the places we visit were good, our driver left us without guidance for an hour before we realize that due to the G7 event he cannot park the van. So we had to walk ourselves Ortigia with no guide to explain the highlights of the city.
The trip was well organized. Syracuse was very interesting especially considering the combination of old Greek and Roman ruins with new sculptures. Ortigia had great architecture as well. Particularly like all the numerous Baroque style churches.
Highly recommend this company and the tour. Very informative with enough free time to visit places on your own. Giovanni was an excellent guide. Wished we would have booked all our trips through them.
The trip was very pleasant, all the cities are worth-visiting. From my perspective, what can be improved is having a guide that shares more infos (as the description states there is a polyglot guide included). In the tour, we had a driver that would hand us printed information, leave us in specific places and pick us after some time.
The tour was excellent. Teresa was more than helpful, kind and patient despite being out of hours. A person of heart and very professionale.As before the experience of the day trip was top. Maybe they were all so available. I would put more stars but there are no☺️
