Stop voor 1 uur voor individuele sightseeing in het indrukwekkende klooster van St. Michael Panormitis voordat u verder reist naar het pittoreske dorpje Simi voor nog eens 3,5 uur vrije tijd vol sightseeing, zwemmen, ontspannen, winkelen, dineren. Uw cruise naar Simi is inclusief vervoer van en naar het hotel in Ialyssos, Ixia en Kallithea.

We halen u op bij uw accommodatie en brengen u naar de veerboot. Uw incheck- en instapkaarten worden geregeld en u kunt beginnen! U krijgt ook een aangepaste gids met interessante informatie, een plattegrond van de stad Simi en routebeschrijvingen. Het vertrek is vanuit de historische haven van Mandraki, waarbij u de eeuwenoude Kolossus passeert.
De eerste stop is de kleine schilderachtige baai, waar zich het Heilige Klooster van aartsengel Michael van Panormitis bevindt. Als u het klooster nadert, hoort u de kerkklokken beieren ter verwelkoming van alle pelgrims, ontdekkingsreizigers, vakantiegangers en nieuwsgierige reizigers. Het Heilige Klooster is een schatkamer van de Grieks-orthodoxe cultuur. De moderne kerk werd gebouwd in 1783 en herbergt het wonderbaarlijke, volledig verzilverde icoon van aartsengel Michael. Het belangrijkste architectonische kenmerk van het klooster is de indrukwekkende klokkentoren, een mix van barok- en renaissancestijlen. Het klooster herbergt ook twee musea met een grote collectie ecclesiastische kunst, iconen, scheepsmodellen en belangrijke voorwerpen van de volkscultuur van het eiland. Bewonder de 18de-eeuwse muurschilderingen, steek een kaars aan die geluk brengt en loop rond om te genieten van de vredige sfeer van deze heilige plek.
Het schip komt langs de beroemde St. George baai zodat je mooie foto's kunt maken van het kerkje onderaan de imposante klif. Elke ZATERDAG, stop voor een snelle 20 minuten zwemmen (van half juni tot eind september)
Terwijl u Simi nadert, zult u versteld staan van de pittoreske kust! Prachtige herenhuizen, authentieke vissersboten, privé-jachten en zeilboten, tientallen restaurants en traditionele winkels en kunsthandelaren, kraampjes met sponzen en houten reliëfs! Voel de authentieke sfeer, wandel door de haven of maak met de FUN TRAIN een geweldige rit door Gialos, ga zwemmen of geniet van een heerlijke maaltijd in een van de vele kroegen aan zee! Het is moeilijk om de sfeer in slechts een paar uur te proeven en de lokale cultuur te ervaren, maar het kleine eiland en de mensen zijn zo gul dat Simi zonder twijfel een stempel zal drukken op uw reiservaring.

The trip itself was lovely, organised and everything on time. Unfortunately I was incredibly sea sick the whole time so I couldn’t enjoy myself.

The whole experience was 10/10. The team was punctual and kind, and the day is arranged so that there’s plenty of time to enjoy both the monastery and Symi. What is more, both locations are worth every penny. We’ll definitely do it again!

Small tavern run by couple. Very tasty Greek dishes including the best moussaka ever eaten in Greece. The cuisine of Mary is top! Every night we ate deliciously with good Greek music and after the meal we got an ouzo on the house. If you want to be sure of a table, book in advance! Correct follow-up of the reservations by the friendly owner. Small prices for super tasty dishes and wine. Fabienne

This trip or service is exactly as it is described, an efficient method of reaching Symi both the monastery and town. The service ran to time, gave sufficient time at both stops to explore, the boat had both toilet facilities and a great bar for teas, coffees, beers etc. There were three levels of seating top level were all open to the elements, and lower floors had a mixture of cabins and open areas, the stairs up to higher level were steep and not suitable for this with mobility issues. If you wish to go to Symi island I would recommend this company, great service and very fair price.

Can’t fault the pick up and drop off from Ialysos. The minibus was comfortable and efficient. Symi was very very pretty; just be prepared that first and foremost it is a tourist destination. Everything you’re buying at Symi has a premium. 3 1/2 hours is also a funny length of time, realistically it’s 3 hours as if you’re getting on the ferry just before departing you’re not going to get a seat. There were things like the museum but it was up a steep hill and, after eating lunch, we didn’t feel like we had enough time. That meant we just sat with an ice cream and enjoyed the view which was nice, but it did drag a little. The swimming stop on Saturdays is also at a very weird spot and 20 minutes isn’t long enough. If you want to go to Symi, this is a great choice. Just be aware that once you’re there, it can be a little awkward!

Went an excursion with this company, from the moment we walked into the office, till the time we came back our trip, it was nothing but 1st class service all the way, when we were booking it the staff were friendly, polite. The bus arrived on time took us to the harbour to go on our ferry to Symi, guide was there to direct us to ferry, although this wasn't a guided tour, Symi is easy to get around, on arriving back at Rhodes, guide was there again to make sure we got on the correct buses, certainly a company I would use again and recommend .

Communication was poor. You are paying for the bus transit to the harbor and the boat. Other groups (with guides) are on the boat. We were not told anything about departure times from the monastery or Symi. All other passengers who didn’t use this tour were, so I’m thankful for them. From reading other reviews it didn’t seem like that was the case so it may have been an off day when I went. Symi is beautiful but hot and there is little shade. Would recommend bringing a bathing suit to cool off at the beach. I actually think the day could have been cut a little shorter since there wasn’t a swim stop (which was noted since I went on a weekday). Symi is beautiful, definitely recommend going! Having the opportunity to do this self guided was very appreciated as a solo traveler but there were definitely missing organizational points throughout the day that would have been appreciated.

The schedule, including the absence of a swim stop on weekdays, is fixed and cannot be altered due to factors such as port authority permits, busy anchoring slots, and logistical coordination at each stop—especially during the high season on an island as popular as Symi. To ensure clarity, departure times are announced both by the ship's crew and displayed on a large sign at the exit at each stop (Panormitis Monastery and Symi Town). This system is in place precisely to help all guests, including solo travelers, stay well-informed throughout the day. We’re sorry if you felt there were missing organizational elements, but rest assured that every effort is made to maintain clear communication and structure.
