Ervaar het allerbeste van de Blue Mountains tijdens een onvergetelijke dagtrip vanuit Sydney. Reis in een kleine groep van maximaal 15 gasten voor een ontspannen, persoonlijke reis weg van de drukte. Vervolgens verkennen we de Blue Mountains die op de Werelderfgoedlijst staan met dramatische kliffen, watervallen, frisse berglucht en een prachtig uitzicht op de vallei. Een hoogtepunt van de dag is onze bushwalk door Wentworth Falls, die beroemd is om zijn onderklifwandeling, een schilderachtig pad dat slingert onder massieve zandstenen overhangen langs de Jamison Valley. We stoppen voor lunch en vrije tijd in het charmante dorpje Leura en sluiten de dag af bij enkele van Katoomba’s beroemdste uitkijkpunten, waaronder de Three Sisters. Deze tour wordt geleid door gepassioneerde lokale gidsen en reist in een comfortabel luxe voertuig.

We beginnen vroeg en laten de prachtige stad Sydney achter ons als we naar het westen gaan. Ongeveer 40 minuten later komen we aan bij onze eerste stop : Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. Dit is de thuisbasis van de grootste collectie Australische inheemse dieren ter wereld, met meer dan 2000 dieren op het terrein. Featherdale staat bekend om zijn close-up ontmoetingen met wilde dieren. Hier kun je vriendelijke kangoeroes met de hand voeren, een professionele foto maken met een schattige en lieve Koala, een selfie maken met het “gelukkigste dier op aarde” de Quokka en Wombats, Tasmaanse duivels en meer ontmoeten. Je ziet ook de levendige kleuren van het inheemse vogelleven van Australië, waaronder emoes, kasuarissen en lachende Kookaburras. Voor degenen die enthousiast zijn om de wildere kant van Australië te verkennen, zijn enkele van de beroemdste 'enge' wezens van het land ook te zien, waaronder Dingo's, Krokodillen, Slangen en Spinnen.
Een hoogtepunt van de dag is ons bezoek aan Wentworth Falls, een van de meest indrukwekkende watervallen in de regio. De watervallen dalen in totaal bijna 300 meter, waardoor ze tot de hoogste in de Blue Mountains behoren en een echte uitblinker van de tour zijn. Wentworth Falls is beroemd om zijn undercliff wandeling, een beschut en schilderachtig pad dat slingert onder massieve zandstenen overhangen langs de Jamison Valley. Het wordt beschouwd als een van de mooiste wandelingen in de Blue Mountains, met dramatische perspectieven en voortdurend veranderende uitzichten. Op heldere dagen bieden de uitkijkposten weidse panorama’s die zich meer dan 50 kilometer over het dal uitstrekken. Bushwalking is een klassieke Australische ervaring, en er zijn hier verschillende wandelopties voor verschillende energieniveaus. Houd er rekening mee dat het gebied trappen bevat en zoals het gezegde luidt, wat naar beneden gaat moet weer omhoog komen. Maar de moeite is zeker de moeite waard, vooral met de lunch te wachten bij onze volgende stop.
Vervolgens bezoeken we Leura Village, algemeen beschouwd als het mooiste dorp in de Blue Mountains. Elegant, lommerrijk en vol karakter, Leura staat bekend om zijn charmante hoofdstraat en ontspannen bergsfeer. Geniet van de vrije tijd om te lunchen in een van de vele cafés, patisserieën of theesalons, snuffel door boetiekjes en boekwinkels, of dwaal gewoon door de rustige bergomgeving.
De middag brengt u naar Echo Point, het beroemdste uitkijkpunt van de Blue Mountains. Geniet van het gouden licht dat de Three Sisters verlicht en een betoverende blauwe waas over de vallei werpt.
Voordat u terugkeert naar Sydney, strek uw benen bij Cahill's Lookout en Boars Head, twee laatste adembenemende uitzichten over de megalange vallei om uw dag af te sluiten. Geniet van de flexibiliteit om uw haltes aan te passen en maak deze tour echt uw eigen.

Great experience in the Blue Mountains. Very nice hike. Small group. Wonderful informative guide. Well timed stops.
Misty hike, might suggest hiking boots, but definitely doable. Wonderful vistas. Mark was an awesome host and guide. Name that tune-Aussie style was so much fun.
Mark was our guide. It was a true small group tour in a very comfortable van that was very clean and had great visibility. I am a big guy (well over 6 foot and not skinny) so van space is important to me on tours. The tour was over 9 hours, but the time flew by. The bushwalk was a highlight especially accented by Mark’s knowledge of the flora and fauna. We really enjoyed the time at the wildlife sanctuary and would love to have spent more time there, but all in all our time was managed very well. Mark’s audio commentary was excellent in the van and the sound system performed nicely which tends to be a problem on many tours we go on. We learned a lot about Australia. The bushwalk registered 17 flights and some 10,000 steps on my Apple Watch. The views were breathtaking and well worth the hike. We had perfect weather in mid April. We were in Sydney on a cruise ship stop for the day. We had complications due to customs, but the communication and accommodation by the company were excellent in arranging our pick up and drop off. BTW. The lunch was great and we appreciated the recommendations and suggestions from Mark as to what was available. We have no negative feedback whatsoever for this experience and would wholeheartedly recommend you go with them.

Amazing guide. Mark made the trip. He modified the walking to fit my wife’s knee while also showing us everything and challenging the rest of us to get some amazing views. His knowledge was deep and varied to make the day informative and entertaining. We did Australian music trivia on the drive back which made the time fly by. Probably the best tour guide we have had in any country we have used Viator in.

This tour was the perfect mix of the Blue Mountains. Craig was a great guide and communication pretour was perfect. Pickup was on time. I enjoyed the Featherdale Wildlife park. We arrived before the big buses and I felt like we had plenty of time to see everything. The walk to Wentworth Falls was awesome. We were given a choice on the way back(one way was easier than the other). The weather was perfect while we were at Echo point.. and the views did not disappoint.

Sights were amazing, and seeing animals at wildlife park was fun. Lunch stop was charming. Mark our guide/driver was fantastic guiding us along the day and a fountainof information; he made it fun and was personable. Well managed time, we spent the perfect amount at each stop. Must do tour!

I chose this tour with Sydney Adventure Tours on the recommendation by my sister Ann who had come last year and also the reviews. Our guide Mark was fun to be with, knowledgeable, entertaining, observant and caring for our safety. Our group totalled 5 and we all got along well. Our stops were great, his recommendations for restaurants were really good and his timing at each spot was great. We were very lucky weather wise as we were supposed to have rain but it held off until the very end of the day. On the way back to Sidney Mark played us music composed, written and sung by Australian singers and musicians. A lot of fun to hear them and learning about the artists. Robert and I highly recommend this tour and ask for Mark!

Even thought we had a drizzly day, we were able to hike and visit all of the sights. Mark was our tour guide and he was excellent - very knowledgeable and very entertaining! It was a great day & I would highly recommend!
