Leer surfen met Tamarindo's nummer 1 surfschool sinds 1989. Alle vaardigheidsniveaus zijn welkom. Wij zijn direct voor een strandvakantie gevestigd en wij zijn de originele surfwinkel van Tamarindo! We zijn zeer ervaren en hebben meer dan 100.000 surflessen gegeven in de 30 jaar dat we actief zijn. Al onze medewerkers zijn vriendelijke, tweetalige en zeer ervaren professionals. Ruim de helft van ons personeel werkt al meer dan 10 jaar bij ons! We spelen specifiek in op de behoeften van elke klant en het is ons doel om elke klant 100% tevreden te laten vertrekken. We leggen grote nadruk op veiligheid. Wij zijn een volledig verzekerd bedrijf met goed opgeleide instructeurs op het gebied van water- en surfveiligheid, reanimatie en EHBO.

Best beginner surfing experience imaginable. Our instructors were Mauricio and Jorgie got all four of us up and running almost instantly. Absolutely phenomenal, and we can’t wait to surf again. I highly recommend Iguana Surf to anyone.

My girlfriend and I took a lesson with Iguana Surf in Tamarindo, Costa Rica. Overall, the staff was very nice and made sure my girlfriend had fun. She is more beginner level, and I’m more intermediate, so we were at different surf abilities. Because of that, I ended up being left on my own to surf the larger waves while she worked with the instructor. I understand why the instructor focused more on her, but I think they should have offered a better option, like charging me for a board rental and making the actual lesson more focused on her. That would have made more sense for our different ability levels. The instructor did help her stand up and made sure she enjoyed herself, which we appreciated. The downside was that there were a couple bigger waves where she didn’t get great coaching on how to handle them or get under them safely, and she ended up hurting her neck a bit. The boards were also fairly beat up, which wasn’t ideal. Overall, everyone was friendly and she did have a good time, but I think Iguana Surf in Tamarindo, Costa Rica could do a better job organizing lessons for two people at different skill levels. I also think there could have been better safety coaching when the waves got bigger and better equipment available.

We understand your point about having different skill levels, and we agree that this situation could have been handled better to ensure both of you received the most appropriate experience. We will review what happened with our instructors and management team to better understand the circumstances. We are especially concerned to hear that your girlfriend hurt her neck. Safety is always our top priority, and we will be discussing this feedback with our team to help prevent similar situations in the future. That said, we’re happy to hear that our staff was friendly and that your girlfriend was able to enjoy her lesson overall.
