Bij het Solar Furnace Institute:
De grote zonne-oven: Wees getuige van de indrukwekkende omvang van het heliocomplex, een van de enige twee in zijn soort in de wereld. De grote parabolische concentrator met zijn duizenden spiegels is een lust voor het oog.
Heliostat veld: Verken het gebied van talrijke grote, platte spiegels (heliostaten) die automatisch de zon volgen en haar stralen reflecteren naar de centrale concentrator.
Concentrator toren: Je hebt misschien de mogelijkheid om de technologische toren te beklimmen die de concentrator huisvest. Vanaf de top heb je vaak een panoramisch uitzicht op de omliggende Parkent Valley en de Tien Shan Mountains. Houd er rekening mee dat vanaf mei 2025 de lift naar het observatiedek buiten gebruik is, waardoor een aantal trappen omhoog moet worden geklommen.

Excellent tour with a lovely tour guide
We started our tour by getting picked up by our lovely tour Guide John. We drove us to the helio complex and shared many interesting information about Tashkent, Uzbekistan, the history of helio complex and its current usage and many more with us along the way. Additionally, he stopped at interesting sight seeing spots and showed us his favorite Samsa spot where he bought us Samsa ❤️! After our visit at the helio complex we stopped by a lovely wine yard where we tried excellent uzbekian wine and had a tasty lunch before heading back to the hotel. John made our trip interesting, unique and fun! He speaks excellent English and is very nice and knowledgeable! I would highly recommend booking a tour with him!

Worth it!
The furnace is amazing and worth the trip, John is a great guy. Also, lunch is at a very typical place and it is delicious

More than just the Sun Institute
We had a memorable day with Khikmatillo, call him John, going to the Sun Institute. We asked him if we could rather go wine tasting instead of the forest and he booked it for us. (by the way the wine was quite good). He was extremely helpful, his English was perfect and allowed us to better understand the fascinating Uzbek culture.

Brilliant! So different and so good
If you want something totally different to the usual tours this is a must! To see the technology they used was fantastic and almost James Bond like. John was brilliant talking me through all the facts about the site and how it worked.
The national park was beautiful but the weather was inclement so I decided to get out before getting lost.
On the way home we stopped for a traditional Kazakh meal in a yurt which was very nice

Day tour with john to Solar Furnace
Truly a soviet era marvel. It's a must visit for all those who visit Uzbekistan.
One needs to atleast spend 2 - 3 hours to appreciate the beauty.
Try visiting in winter, it's like a sci-fi movie.

A good day out
John was very friendly and chatty. A safe driver. The helio complex was amazing for someone interested in science. We also went to a local nature reserve and did a small walk. I really enjoyed the drive which took us through small villages.

The helio complex is...
The helio complex is interesting. The eco park provided a decent 60-90 minutes walk. The driver was lovely. Nothing was too much trouble, including finding me a veggie lunch.
