Stone Town Tour neemt je mee door de hoofdstad van de Zanzibar-archipel om het unieke karakter van de kosmopolitische "Swahili-cultuur" te ervaren, belichaamd met Arabische, Indiase, Europese en Portugese invloeden. Het diende ook als een belangrijk handelscentrum voor specerijen, ivoor en slaven in de 19e eeuw. Stone Town staat sinds 2000 op de Werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO vanwege de unieke mix van architecturale stijlen die terug te vinden zijn in de gebouwen, moskeeën, deuren en paleizen. Tijdens de rondleiding kun je dit onderscheidende aspect van Stone Town waarderen. Er zijn ook levendige markten en bazaars zoals de Darajani-markt en de Forodhani-avondmarkt, die een zintuiglijke ervaring biedt vol levendige kleuren, aroma's van kruiden en de geluiden van onderhandelen. Je kunt communiceren met de vriendelijke lokale bevolking, exotisch fruit proeven, straatvoedsel uit Zanzibari proeven en unieke souvenirs kopen. Hier zullen we de geschiedenis van de slavenhandel hier op Zanzibar en heel Oost-Afrika volgen, de slavenmonumenten, de slavenkamer en de plek waar slaven werden uitverkocht verkennen. laat u alle artefacten zien die op de site zijn gevonden, met hun historische betekenis. ook zal het merkteken van de wereldberoemde ontdekkingsreiziger Dr. David Livingstone en andere missionarissen worden ontdekt.
Verken en vertel je de geschiedenis van de beroemde zanger, songwriter, gitarist en frontman van de rockband Queen Freddie Mercury.
Hier zullen we het open amfitheater, de Portugese kapel met accenten en het Arabische fort van Busaid verkennen en de hele geschiedenis erachter vertellen.
Vervolgens naar onze adembenemende fruit-, groente-, vis-, vlees- en kruidenmarkt (Darajani-markt), waar u de kans krijgt om te winkelen, testen, fotograferen en kijken naar verse dagelijkse vangst uit de Indische Oceaan en veel fruit, kruiden en groente van lokale Zanzibaris tuinbouw producenten.
Daarna gaan we naar de smalle straat van Stone Town tot aan het Zanzibar Coffee House, waar je een dutje doet en geniet van de aromatische koffie van je keuze.
De tour gaat verder naar Sultan Palace, waar je de kans krijgt om de geschiedenis van de Sultan-dynastie van Zanzibar vast te leggen en de sfeer in het majestueuze Sultan Palace te verkennen.
De Forodhani-tuin is een beroemd avondresort waar de lokale bevolking smakelijke zeevruchten, suikerrietsappen, BBQ, Zanzibar-pizza en nog veel meer verkoopt.
De Franse katholieke kathedraal (Notre Dom van Zanzibar) goed gebeeldhouwde kerk in het hart van Stone Town met veel verhalen te vertellen.

A fantastic tour! We learned so much with Maulid about the history of Stone Town and Zanzibar. We went to some key sites, as well as some off the tourist path which was great. I especially enjoyed being guided through the local markets and through the winding maze of streets in town. Highly recommend!
Zanzibar is really beautiful more than I thought, we took a lot of photos and experience awesome views. We enjoyed more warm services from my best friend friend Maulid with his team. Mau gave us a tour around stone town. He was charismatic and so knowledgeable. If you want to explore Zanzibar and understand the rich history. He is your guy! The city of Stone Town (old part of Zanzibar city) deserves to be lost in its narrow streets to enjoy and experience the constant hustle and bustle of the locals. Several mosques coexist with bars, selling fruit and vegetables... Visiting the slave market still makes you shudder just thinking about it, but it is a must-visit when in the city.
Wonderful tour of stone town with our guide Omar.He is really a captivating and passionate person. We had a great tour of stone town.It really got emotionnal when we visited the old slaves market....
