Eerst stoppen we om het uitzicht over de Forth Bridges vanuit South Queensferry te bewonderen voordat we verder gaan naar Linlithgow Palace met zijn rijke en gevarieerde geschiedenis. Daarna nemen we de 'Royal Route' naar Stirling Castle en verkennen we de oude koninklijke zetel van Schotland. Leer de gevarieerde geschiedenis van de Stuart Royals en de grote veldslagen van de middeleeuwen die in de buurt werden uitgevochten. Reis door naar het Nationaal Park en verken het idyllische Loch Lomond met zijn kalme wateren die plaats maken voor een dramatisch hooglandlandschap. Bezoek het beschermde dorp Luss en hoor de lokale verhalen uit honderden jaren traditie. De privétour wordt uitgevoerd in onze luxe Mercedes-minibusjes die comfortabel plaats bieden aan maximaal 6 passagiers. Je gepassioneerde chauffeur-gids brengt de dag tot leven met verhalen en levende geschiedenis en begeleidt je persoonlijk naar alle monumenten en locaties. We stoppen hier om het uitzicht op 'The Three Bridges' te bekijken, een prachtige verzameling weg- en spoorwegbruggen met een lange en interessante geschiedenis.
We bezoeken dit interessante verwoeste paleis en bekijken het vanaf de buitenkant. Linlithgow is de geboorteplaats van Mary Queen of Scots en heeft een lange en complexe geschiedenis die je zult horen over de historische peeling.
We rijden langs de indrukwekkende openbare kunstinstallatie van Kelpies terwijl we van en naar Stirling reizen. Deze indrukwekkende beelden van Clydesdale-paardenkoppen torenen 30 meter boven het kanaalbekken uit terwijl we langs de Royal Route rijden.
We bezoeken Stirling Castle op de top van Castle Hill. Met een adembenemend uitzicht over het carse van Stirling en een rijke geschiedenis. We zullen het hele kasteel verkennen, inclusief Great Hall en Royal Apartments tijdens een wandeltocht door het kasteel met je gids.
We rijden door Loch Lomond en het Trossachs National Park met een prachtig landschap. Dit is een verwijdergebied van Schotland en wordt vaak 'The Highlands in Miniature' genoemd. Er zijn veel fotomogelijkheden langs deze route.
We stoppen om te genieten van het uitzicht over het Trossachs-gebied en leren over de lokale man David Stirling en zijn enorme bijdrage aan de Tweede Wereldoorlog.
We bezoeken het middeleeuwse Doune Castle, misschien wel de beroemdste caslte van Schotland. Doune is gebruikt in Monty Python, Game of Thrones en Outlander. Het heeft ook een interessant verleden en opmerkelijke architectuur.
We rijden door het pittoreske Trossachs-gebied, omschreven als 'de hooglanden in het klein'. We komen ook langs het enige meer van Schotland!
We stoppen bij het pittoreske dorpje Luss. We zien het prachtige Loch Lomond en verkennen de kustlijn na de lunch in een lokale historische taverne met geweldig Schots eten en bier.

The experience was top-notch. Excellent choice. The guide, Stewart, was super friendly, was flexible with our schedule (we arrived late to the city), adapted the tour, knew the history, took us to additional places (distillery, points of interest), extending the tour. We booked this tour from Greenock port stop on our British Ilse’s cruise. We are so glad we did. We had a fantastic day exploring castles and distilleries. Scotland is a beautiful country. Hazel was a fantastic guide. We had a great day. Highly recommend!
Laura was our guide and she was excellent. I’d go back just to hang with Laura! We traveled with another family. Each of us having a toddler. Laura was kind and patient. She was informative and gave us a great experience.
Our guide calais was very punctual and communication (English) worked excellently. He had a lot of information about the sights and could answer any question from us. We had a wonderful day with little surprises. It gave us great pleasure.
We had a quick trip to Scotland and wanted to maximize the experience so we booked a private tour with Experienced Tours. Before the trip, Experienced Tours contacted us and asked if there was anything we especially wanted to see, purchased tickets, and made reservations. We did 2 tours with Experienced Tours. On the days of the tours, Calais picked us up at the hotel and chauffeured us in their minivan. Calais was knowledgeable and escorted us through the castles and places visited. He told some stories of the history and pointed out things that we would have missed thereby enriching our experiences. Calais also scheduled the day so we went to Stirling Castle first avoiding most of the crowd and making it a more personal experience. Also, we are from the U.S. and are not used to driving on the left side of narrow roads with roundabouts. Being chauffeured removed the stress of us driving, trying to figure out directions, parking, and local traffic laws.

Experienced tours, And Sandy in particular made for a wonderful day of exploring Sterling Castle, Callander, and the surrounding lovely areas of Scotland. They were very clear on their instructions, prompt on their pick up and knowledgeable of the areas. Not to mention friendly and very pleasant to spend the day with. I have no hesitation recommending their services to others.
This tour was thoroughly enjoyed by the four of us and exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Sandy, went out of his way to make sure we saw the things that were most important to us (the Highland Cows and many sheep) I would highly recommend it to any group that desires a personalized tour with a very knowledgeable guide.
We really enjoyed the coordination by Sandy of Experienced Tours and the tour with Ben Walace. We enjoyed our full day family outing in the private Mercedes van. We were able to enjoy a view Edinburgh from Nelson Monument, the Kelpies, the Falkirk Wheel, Stirling Castle, enjoyed great Scottish lunch at the Oak Tree pub, walking Loch Lomond, and finally touring Glengoyne Distillery. So many wonderful places to experience in one day.
Such a nice tour lady - and beautiful Mercedes van to ride in. Sterling caste was cool and lots is costumes. The loch was pretty to see and we ate some good Scottish food.
