Fun experience thru Stanley Park. Stanley Park is huge!! Best way to get acquainted with the park. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. Horses are WONDERFUL!!
We joined the Stanley Park Horse‑Drawn Tours for a family outing and had a genuinely pleasant experience. It’s a slow‑paced, scenic way to explore one of Vancouver’s most beautiful areas, and the horses are clearly well cared for, healthy, and treated with respect — something that really stood out and added to the enjoyment. --- Experience & Atmosphere Pace: The tour moves at a comfortable, steady rhythm. It’s not rushed, and you get plenty of time to take in the views, listen to the guide, and enjoy the surroundings. Guides: Friendly, knowledgeable, and relaxed. They share interesting facts about Stanley Park’s history, wildlife, and landmarks without overwhelming you. Horses: Beautifully groomed, calm, and clearly loved by the staff. Their temperament makes the ride feel safe and peaceful. --- Scenery & Highlights You pass iconic spots like the Rose Garden, Totem Poles, and the coastal forest areas. The open carriage gives you great visibility, and the gentle clip‑clop of the horses adds a nostalgic charm you don’t get from bus or bike tours. --- Value & Cost The main drawback is the price. It’s definitely on the expensive side for the length of the tour, especially compared to other ways of exploring the park. You’re paying for the unique experience rather than the duration or depth of the tour. If you enjoy slower, more atmospheric sightseeing — or if you’re travelling with kids, older family members, or anyone who prefers a relaxed pace — it feels worth it. If you’re looking for maximum value or a longer, more detailed tour, you may find it a bit steep. --- Final Thoughts Overall, Stanley Park Horse‑Drawn Tours offers a charming, gentle, and enjoyable way to see the park. The horses are clearly well looked after, the pace is lovely, and the guides make the ride engaging. It’s a special experience — just be prepared for the higher cost.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and offered interesting historical elements about stanley park.
Great experience. Driver was a great guide and shared a good historical perspective.
Definitely put it on your to do list. We were quite cozy under provided blankets on a rainy drizzle of a morning.
Laura was the driver and guide and hosted an incredible tour. Very informative and fun.
Gives you a nice easy way to see some of the park. Highly recommend this for young and old and in between!
We loved this tour! The guide was excellent -- relatable, funny, knowledgeable, etc. An excellent way to see Stanley Park. (And my wife loved the Percherons!)
We had a fantastic experience on the horse-drawn carriage tour of Stanley Park. It was a relaxing and unique way to see one of Vancouver’s most beautiful attractions. Our driver was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting stories about the park’s history, landmarks, and wildlife, making the tour both enjoyable and informative. The horses were beautiful, well cared for, and clearly treated with great respect, which was wonderful to see. The pace was perfect, allowing us to take in the stunning scenery and snap plenty of photos without feeling rushed. If you’re visiting Vancouver, I highly recommend this tour. It’s a peaceful break from the busy city and a memorable way to experience the beauty and history of Stanley Park.
We pre-bought tickets for half of our group on Trip Advisor when we thought the rest would go bike riding. However, the bike riders decided to go with us, so we purchased several more tickets on site as well. It was very enjoyable morning and our tour guide gave lots of info about the park, & the horses. I recommend going early to beat the crowds. The carriage does make a stop at the totem poles for just a few minutes so you can hop out and take a photo.
