Je leert over onze beroemde muurschilderingen, straatkunst en sculpturen gemaakt door kunstenaars van over de hele wereld. We delen een speciale zoete traktatie met je aan het einde van deze leuke excursie. Sacramento zet zich in om openbare kunst te vieren en deze in het dagelijks leven van mensen te brengen. Openbare kunst heeft de kracht om conversatie op gang te brengen, de gemeenschap te betrekken, kunstenaars te ondersteunen en een stad te verfraaien. Er is geen betere manier om deze kunstwerken in je op te nemen dan te voet, zodat je van dichtbij kunt komen, kunt blijven hangen en foto's kunt maken. Door een gerenommeerd muurschilderingproject, Wide Open Walls, heeft de stad wereldwijd bekendheid verworven vanwege zijn muurschilderingen van lokale en internationale kunstenaars. Tijdens deze tour delen we muurschilderingen en andere kunst gemaakt door kunstenaars van over de hele wereld, waaronder lokale kunstenaars uit Sacramento.

Deze tour van 90 minuten slingert door het centrum van Sacramento en eindigt in de Downtown Commons, bekend als DOCO, waar we ongeveer 20 minuten doorbrengen. Dit gebied werkt samen met leuke bars en restaurants, winkels, een bioscoop en de Kings Arena. Je bent van harte welkom om in DOCO te blijven of na de tour naar het State Capitol te wandelen.

The Downtown Sacramento Mural and Walking Tour is a fun way to view some of the magnificent, splendid, and grand murals that adorn this fair city. You see things you cannot see when driving around. Our guide, Annie, was knowledgeable and personable. I would caution folks, however, if you have any mobility issues or are a slow walker like me, the tour covers several miles, and there is no chance to sit down. The pace was consistently moderate, and I was often behind. I am not sure I would do it again because I had quite a bit of back pain after. Perhaps using a walker or a cane might have helped.

If you ever want a fun thing to do on a Saturday morning I highly recommend the “Downtown Mural and Art Walk” in Sacramento. My wife and I had a super fun time this morning and want to do it again for my birthday. Our tour guide Annie was fantastic! She was very friendly and knowledgeable. 5 out of 5 stars!
