Tijdens deze tour leer je alles over de geschiedenis en smaken van de provincie Puerto Plata, maar ook over hoe de lokale bevolking leeft en wat ze doen, zoals scholen, universiteiten en het openbaar vervoer. Je wordt ook vermaakt door verschillende soorten rum te proeven en te genieten van een heerlijk dessert in de chocoladefabriek. We bezoeken Pink Street, wandelen over Umbrella Street, bezoeken een sigarenfabriek om te zien hoe sigaren worden gemaakt en bezoeken het Amber and Larimar Museum. Het centrale park, omringd door oude Victoriaanse huizen, en de prachtige architectuur van de San Felipe-kathedraal. We stoppen bij de promenade om te genieten van het prachtige uitzicht op de Atlantische Oceaan, waar de Rots van Neptunus zich bevindt. Je kunt de plaatsen die je wilt bezoeken selecteren en ook de starttijd kiezen.

De kathedraal van Puerto De kathedraal dateert uit 1502, maar werd in 1863, tijdens een brand die door de restaurateurs werd aangericht, volledig verwoest. Pas in 1956 werd het gebouw volledig gerestaureerd, de laatste renovatie vond plaats in 2008. De kathedraal heeft een grote religieuze betekenis voor de Dominicanen en is een van de belangrijkste bedevaartsoorden in de hele Dominicaanse Republiek.
De geschiedenis van het hotel gaat terug tot 1898, toen Isidoro Rainieri en Bianca Franceschini, oorspronkelijk uit Italië, in Puerto Plata aankwamen. Ze beseften dat er een hotel nodig was om reizigers van dienst te kunnen zijn en besloten Hospedaje del Comercio op te richten. Later veranderden ze de naam in Hotel Europa.
Bekend om zijn kleurrijke paraplu's waarmee u prachtige foto's kunt maken. Er staan 178 paraplu's.
Op deze plek leer je alles over de geschiedenis en het gebruik van de nationale stenen van de Dominicaanse Republiek, die vooral gebruikt worden voor het maken van sieraden en souvenirs. Dit zijn halfedelstenen die onder andere medicinale toepassingen hebben.
Hier leert u over de geschiedenis van rum en kunt u verschillende soorten rum proeven.
In dit prachtige park, gelegen in het hart van de koloniale wijk van Puerto Plata, kunnen we de geschiedenis van de Dominicaanse onafhankelijkheid bekijken en erover leren. We bewonderen de standbeelden van de vaders van de natie, het Victoriaanse prieel en de omgeving met de kleurrijke koloniale gebouwen.
In deze prachtige straat, ook wel bekend als de Vlaggenstraat, zult u gefascineerd raken door het contrast van de vlaggen van alle landen die onze geliefde stad Puerto Plata bezoeken. Het zal een blijvende herinnering zijn aan uw waardevolle bezoek en verblijf.
In deze sigarenfabriek beleef je een onvergetelijke ervaring. Je leert alles over de geschiedenis van tabak, hoe sigaren worden gemaakt, de verschillende soorten Dominicaanse sigaren en je kunt een sigaar naar keuze proeven.
De boulevard is een van de recreatiegebieden van Puerto Plata, waar u prachtige culturele muurschilderingen op de gebouwen, gezellige lokale bars en restaurants, het schitterende water van de Atlantische Oceaan dat onze stranden omspoelt, het standbeeld van Neptunus, de koning der zeeën, en het bord van Puerto Plata kunt bewonderen.
Hier bezoeken we de omgeving van dit majestueuze fort, dat tussen 1565 en 1577 werd gebouwd. Het werd door de Spanjaarden gebouwd om de stad te beschermen tegen piraten en kapers die aan de kust van Puerto Plata arriveerden. Het diende ook als gevangenis en is een van de belangrijkste recreatiegebieden van de stad, met een groot park eromheen. Er is ook een amfitheater waar het hele jaar door verschillende activiteiten plaatsvinden. Het is een prachtige plek om foto's en video's te maken.

Amazing tour! Beautiful sites!
We were vacationing in Puerto Plata and had an amazing experience with our tour guide, Diomi from Diomi Travels. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered all our questions throughout the tour. He also recommended one of the best places to try sancocho, and we all enjoyed it together, which made the experience even more special. One moment that really stood out was when we ran out of cash while shopping for souvenirs at local shops. Without us even asking, Diomi paid out of his own pocket, which was such a kind and thoughtful gesture. Overall, we highly recommend his services. Definitely reach out to him if you want a great tour experience in Puerto Plata. P.S. He also takes amazing pictures! Diomi provides us with a great personalized tour of Puerto Plata, making us feel at home. Well we had an opportunity to visit places that included purchasing local goods, we also got to see a little bit of real life, even getting to shop at the local grocery store and eating like a local. Had a city tour Diomi. Probably one of the best tours we’ve done. Very attentive and informative of the area. The places we went to were beautiful. Some included Umbrella Street, Puerto Plata, Jesus statue, Rum Factory, Cigar factory, countryside, pink street, etc. Very nice tour if it’s your first time here to see everything. Very caring to help watch your step (as I am recovering from a broken hip). Great for all ages. Highly recommended and definitely will go on different tours with the company.
