Op deze locatie kun je bij “Kaye Savann” genieten van warme baksels en cocosthee. Een perfecte manier om je dag te beginnen met een voedzaam licht ontbijt! De koele bries en het adembenemende uitzicht houden je ontspannen met een positieve start.
Ervaar het adembenemende luchtfoto van de hoofdstad! Je krijgt de gelegenheid om geweldige foto's van de stad te maken vanaf de top van de berg bij Morn Fortune. Op deze zelfde locatie krijg je een sneak pic in de officiële residentie van de gouverneur-generaal van Saint Lucia.
Bij deze foodstoplocatie bezoek je Glamity's Bar of Antilla's Brewery. Glamity's Bar is alleen beschikbaar op zaterdag wanneer de distilleerderij gesloten is, waar u kunt proeven van voedsel zoals Island style Grilled Pork of bloedpudding met lokale bijgerechten en eilanddrankjes. Op donderdag laat Antilla's microbrouwerij rondleidingen voor bezoekers toe om te ervaren hoe ze er unieke dranken produceren.
Marigot Bay is een historisch monument, omdat hier een aantal veldslagen tussen de Franse en Britse marine hebben plaatsgevonden. Het binnenste deel van de baai vormt een orkaangat, dat wordt gebruikt om boten te beschermen tegen orkanen. De baai werd gebruikt als decor voor de filmaanpassing uit 1967 van de Doctor Dolittle-boeken van Hugh Lofting. Scènes van het scheepswrak, Great Pink Sea Snail en de constructie van het harnas voor de Giant Lunar Moth werden in de baai gefilmd.
Proef versgeplukte bananen op de bananenplantage in Roseau en bezoek St. Lucia Distillers voor rumproeverij/Distillery Brewery Tour. Onze gidsen leren je hoe bananen worden verbouwd, de geschiedenis van de plantage en leren meer over onze rumproductie. We zouden dan een stop maken bij de Rum Distillery waar we minstens 22 unieke St. Lucian rum kunnen proeven. Daar zou je een goed begrip hebben van wat we produceren om mee naar huis te nemen.
De naam Anse la Raye is afgeleid van de stralen die in de baai worden gevonden, de Engelse vertaling betekent Baai van Stralen. Twee rivieren stromen de baai in, dit zijn de Grande Rivière de l'Anse la Raye en de Petite Rivière de l'Anse la Raye. Op een vrijdagavond is er een visje waar de plaatselijke vissers hun vaardigheden onder de aandacht brengen. Je krijgt de kans om visbeignets of gestoofd varkensvlees te proeven met een assortiment zelfgemaakte spice rum (meestal lokale Viagra genoemd). We hebben de geheimen van de Horizon Bar ontdekt, waar specerijen, fruit en kruiden voor een bepaalde periode in alcohol worden gegist, wat resulteert in verrijkte en onderscheidende smaken.
Zet je camera's klaar voor mooie uitzichten van zowel de noordelijke als de zuidelijke benadering van 'Kanawe' (Franse creoolse naam). De naam Kanawe is afgeleid van het Amerindiaanse woord voor kookpotten, in het verleden had de Canarische Eilanden een grote suikerplantage die landinwaarts het dal in liep dat zich uitstrekt in een eterlijke richting vanuit het dorp. Gedurende 15 - 20 minuten kunt u onze nationale schotel (groene vijgen en zoute vis), broodvrucht en zoute vis met kokoskerrie, weegbree-chips en authentieke Luciaanse hapjes zoals Tamerine-ballen, Guava / Ginger-toffees en Goose Berry Jam bij Del's proeven. Regenwoud Cafe. Optioneel kunt u Cacoa Sainte Lucie bezoeken, waar biologische chocolade wordt geproduceerd die eigendom is van een lokale inwoner genaamd Maria. Ze maakt gebruik van de vele cacao-planten in St.Lucia en maakt met de hand een reeks verschillende chocoladerepen. De methode die wordt gebruikt om deze chocolaatjes te maken, zorgt voor een unieke smaak waar je verliefd op wordt. Word geïntrigeerd door de beste chocolaatjes uit de Canarische Eilanden! Je zult ongeveer 20 minuten op deze plek doorbrengen.
Geniet van de ambiance van de Pitons (Gros Piton en Petit Piton), twee gigantische vulkanische pluggen ten zuiden van Soufrière en die op de werelderfgoedlijst van UNESCO staan. Soufrière bevat vele voortreffelijke attracties, zoals de rit door de vulkaan genaamd de Sulphur Springs, regenwoud, natuurpaden, landgoederen, stranden en beroemde resorts zoals Anse Chastanet en Ladera.
We gaan dan naar Tony's place, dit beschouwen we als het hoogtepunt van de tour. We moeten eerst een beek/rivier oversteken om bij de Tony's boerderij te komen, die je als eerste verwelkomt met verse Kokosnoten. We kunnen dan wat uniek fruit van Tony's boerderij proeven (tamarinde, zoete sinaasappels, mango's, papaja, suikerappels, gouden appels enz.) Vervolgens kun je zijn boerderij verkennen en een scala aan fruitbomen, tropische planten, Lemmon-gras, een ananasboerderij en een groene kruidentuin zien. We krijgen dan de kans om cashewnoten te roosteren als activiteit op de lokale manier op houtvuur.
Vervolgens kunnen we tijdens de reis de meest unieke Rum proeven, de lokale bevolking noemt het spice Rum, sommigen kennen het als maneschijn. Deze specifieke reep laat fruit en ander voedsel gedurende 6 maanden tot 1 jaar fermenteren tot Rum. Je kunt dan deze geweldige rum proeven met een verscheidenheid aan fruitige smaken.

Delvin was great. The rum tour and food were both great. We also enjoyed stopping at the farm to try many of the local fruits. Delvin also explained the history and culture of the island while we were driving between the various stops on the tour. I highly recommend this tour.

Delvin our guide was amazing!! He was very kind and easy going, knowledgeable of the island and ensured everyone was comfortable during the tour. The lunch provided at his mom’s house was a highlight of our trip and one of our best meals on the island! We got to try a diverse palate of Lucian food, all of which was delicious! The cost is defiantly worth it for the full day experience! Highly recommend our guide and this tour if you’re wanting an authentic experience! 10/10!!

Best tour of the holiday by far. Don't let the price hold you back: it is totally worth it. Chris picked us up at 8am to drive for over an hour to the first stop up north, then we gradually made our way back south to our resort. On the way up north Chris explained a lot about the island, its history and the culture. Every stop was great: local breakfast was at a place tourists can't find (and it was super tasty), the rum distillery tour and tasting was awesome. Chris was very patient when we tasted up to 20 rums before deciding which one to buy. Think that was it? Oh no, then it was off to an infused rum tasting, done by locals. Just a stand next to the road, rum in what seemed like plastic bottles. Sounds bad? He'll no, the flavors were awesome. The people super friendly and very keen in telling you all about their products. Rum infused with fruits you've never heard of, a variety of nuts, plants, but especially: coffee and cocoa. Oh boy this was good. "Take your time, ready when you are: Chris said patiently. Did I mention already he's also a very skilled driver? Also, as I am a beer enthusiast, I asked if it was possible to include the local brewery. Now this was a quest even for him but the man got it figured out after making some phone calls throughout the day and eventually we got the directions. After the lunch stop at a house of a local (we literally just sat in their garden, not a restaurant or anything, just at people's home) where we had a wonderful meal (and we were stuffed) it was straight over to Tony's farm. Tony is a farmer, possibly in his late 60s I'd say, but he showed his skills. Immediately after us arriving he started whacking a coconut with his machete which we could then drink out of and after that eat the gelly (at first glance I was like 'really?' but it tastes good, trust me). Then the comparison with a dried one. Very interesting! Then all kinds of local fruit and to top it off a crash course in how to roast cashew nuts (apparently without roasting the oil in the nuts is toxic!) harvested fresh from the plant. Finally our last stop was the one we asked for specifically so they added this especially for us: the craft brewery, exceptionally well hidden in the hills (even Chris had to inquire and that says something) where we could try 3 of their craft beers and had a great chat with Martin and one of the brewers (slapping myself for not remembering the guys name). This was our final stop. We had a blast. Chris was the perfect guide: friendly, knowledgeable, patient and funny. If you love to try new things and local food this tour is absolutely worth it. Fantastic.

A great tour if you are interested in learning more about the island culture and its food history. Take you beyond the typical tourist sites where you taste the local foods, homemade rums, roast cashews and drink coconut water from coconuts straight from the trees!

This was the best tour we did while in St Lucia! We had the most authentic St Lucian food - from a traditional breakfast to a range of different fruits (half I've never had before) and finally the most delicious salted fish curry I've ever had courtesy of Delvin's mum - hands down the best meal we had! Authentic and fresh rum punch (again one of the best I've had!). We also had a great rum tour (seeing the process in a working distillery) with the opportunity to taste 22 different rums! Delvin also gave us loads of information/ interesting facts about the island which was great to hear. Great communication with Delvin about changing the date and moving the pick up time back. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour as a must do if you want to experience real St Lucian/Creole food!

We did the food and rum tour with Delvin and cannot recommend it highly enough!! He is a font of knowledge about St Lucia’s history, culture, and of course, food scene. It was a nice blend of conversation while also having time to enjoy some experiences alone. The St. Lucian breakfast was delicious with an amazing view; the rum distillery tour was awesome; tasting fresh tropical fruits at Tony’s farm was lovely, and it was amazing to enjoy a home-cooked lunch at his mom’s house—such a personal way to get a peek into the wonderful island culture of St. Lucia! Be careful with the final rum tasting at Horizon, because while delicious, those samples pack a punch! (But that didn’t stop us from bringing 3 unique bottles home!) 😁

Great tour, a definite must for anyone wanting to try authentic stuff lucian food!! Delvin was a great host/guide and even stopped to get my cousin a red bull. We had breakfast (bakes) + 2 rum stops + sauce tasting (try banana ketchup) + fruit tasting at Tony's farm (cocoa, sugarcane, soursop, mangos & more) + lunch (so good I had 2 servings)

Delvin is a lovely guy and taught us a lot about the culture of St.Lucia. The Rum distillery was great and the different foods we got to try were very interesting and different from anything we have ever had before.
