Maeklong Market is een unieke, 'must-see attractie' die op het reisschema van elke bezoeker moet staan. Het heet 'Risky Market' omdat er een treinspoor is dat direct door het midden van de markt loopt. Letterlijk binnen enkele seconden nadat de trein door de markt rijdt, moeten verkopers hun goederen, en zichzelf, uit de weg trekken. De precisie timings en bewegingen van alle betrokkenen zijn fascinerend om te zien. De tweede markt op deze route is op de drijvende markt bij Damnoen Saduak. Hoewel het authentiek is en nog steeds door de lokale bevolking wordt gebruikt, is het vanwege zijn populariteit druk geworden met toeristen. Maeklong Railway Market is een traditionele Thaise markt die verse groenten, voedsel en fruit verkoopt. Wat de markt bijzonder maakt, is dat deze een deel van een spoorlijn beslaat. Een paar keer per dag rijdt er een trein rechtstreeks door de markt. Enkele minuten voordat de trein komt, laten verkopers hun paraplu's zakken en verplaatsen een deel van hun producten van de treinsporen. Sommigen blijven op de grond staan, met de trein recht over hen heen. Verbazingwekkend genoeg raakt er niets beschadigd of kapot, en zodra de trein passeert, verplaatsen de verkopers hun goederen terug op de sporen en gaan gewoon verder (tot de volgende trein arriveert).
Beroemd om zijn toeristenvriendelijke drijvende markten, Damnoen Saduak is degene die je zult vinden in de toeristische literatuur over Thailand. Neem je camera mee om getuige te zijn van de rivier vol met houten boten vol met groenten en fruit, die ze verkopen aan mensen die op het land staan. De scène is kleurrijk en luid; precies zoals je zou verwachten van een Thaise markt. Het ligt op slechts 100 km van Bangkok.

- Ontmoetingspunt is bij de grote hoofdingang van het River City Shopping Mall (naast het Royal Orchid Shopping Mall).
- Optionele ophaalservice vanuit de volgende gebieden: Sathorn, Silom, Siam, Pratunam, Khao San Road, Charoenkrung Road of het Sukhumvit-gebied tussen Soi 1-39 en 2-24. Wacht 15 minuten voor de geplande ophaaltijd in de lobby van het hotel. (Het ophalen van het hotel is ongeveer 30-60 minuten voor vertrek van de tour.)
- De tour eindigt bij MBK Center
- De duur van de transfers is bij benadering, de exacte duur is afhankelijk van het tijdstip van de dag en de verkeersomstandigheden

Ignore the negative reviews. This tour was absolutely worth it and ended up being one of the best tours we’ve ever taken! The company was very clear about everything from the beginning. A lot of the complaints in the reviews seem to come from people who didn’t read the instructions or expectations carefully. We knew exactly what to expect, and everything was delivered as promised. Our tour guide, Hady, was absolutely amazing. He went above and beyond throughout the entire day. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does and truly cares about making sure everyone has a great experience. His energy, enthusiasm, and attention to the group made the tour even more enjoyable. The tour itself was incredible, well organized, fun, and memorable from start to finish. The only thing worth mentioning is that while the itinerary lists the end time as 2:00 PM, that’s when the activities end. You still need to account for the drive back, which brought us closer to 4:00 PM because of traffic. That said, the return trip was actually quicker than we expected and wasn’t an issue at all. Overall, this was an excellent experience and one I would absolutely do again. I would take this tour 10 more times and would recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Travel.to and from this location consumes.your whole day. Plus.the noise.and air pollution from long tail.biats is terrible. Find something else to do.

It was a good experience but it had become to touristy. Way too many people and a little hard to enjoy. But still had a good time with the experience. :-)

It was very touristic and the train ride was only interesting the last 5 minutes. A lot of souvenir vendors at the floating market. Don't forget to bargain.

Interesting day yesterday. This tour has a lot if driving. Our van was not the most comfortable (older van model). Most if us had stiff muscles by the end of the day. The boat ride was also shorter (about 10 minutes) than what we were told (20-25 minutes). It took about 3h30 to get back to our hotel.
