Galveston heeft een gruwelijk aantal plotselinge sterfgevallen gezien. Een goddeloos aantal van de eilanden is dierbaar vertrokken, nooit vertrokken. Hun geest sluimert elke dag in de schaduwen, steegjes, trappen en stal DE STRAND! De historische 19e-eeuwse gebouwen op THE STRAND zijn spookheiligdommen geworden. En de geesten binnenin willen je alleen maar ontmoeten. Ga met ons mee op onze 90 minuten durende wandeling terwijl we de fascinerende paranormale gebeurtenissen op het strand, de oorspronkelijke straat van horror, verkennen. Orkanen, oorlog, vuur en epidemieën! De piraat Jean Lafitte veranderde het eiland zelfs in een hol van dieven. Galveston heeft meer spoken dan welke andere stad in de VS Wandelend in de nacht, zullen doorzichtige figuren door de ramen zweven. Schaduwen zullen plotseling verschijnen en objecten bewegen vanzelf als we dichter bij elkaar kruipen want wederzijdse bescherming. We weten nooit wat ons om de hoek te wachten staat. Pas op en wees bang! Galveston is immers niets anders dan "een begraafplaats met een strand eraan vast".

Op zijn hoogtepunt zag dit treinstation dagelijks meer dan 40.000 mensen op weg naar de bars, casino's en bordelen van Galveston. Een ingenieur met de naam William Watson zou de voorbijgaande menigte vermaken door handstanden op de veewacht van de motoren te doen. Op een ongelukkige dag Gleed hij UIT en werd onmiddellijk onthoofd. Een derby-hoed zat nog steeds stevig op het hoofd, ze vonden A MIJL OP WEG!
Zoveel hoogwaardigheidsbekleders, soldaten, politici en zelfs presidenten hebben ingecheckt ... MAAR SOMMIG NOOIT UITGESCHREVEN. Huilende snikken hoor je op de trappenhuizen en in de gangen. Een burgeroorlog soldaat marcheert op en neer in de lobby voor iedereen om te zien. Een kleine jongen speelt in het hotel waarvan wordt gezegd dat het de geest is van een kind dat voor de deur van het hotel overreden is. Eén handige geest zal zelfs voor je uitpakken!
Charles F. Coghlan, een beroemde Britse acteur, zeilde naar Galveston om het podium van The Grand Opera House te sieren. Maar arme Charles stierf voordat het gordijn ooit werd opgeheven. Wat te doen met het lichaam van deze voorname bezoeker? In afwachting van het antwoord vernietigde THE GREAT STORM het eiland en droeg Charles de doodskist naar zee. Het dreef van Galveston naar Prince Albert Sound voordat het eindelijk landde ... OVER EEN MIJL WAAR CHARLES NAAR RETIRE GAAT!

Not sure if I believe all the stories told, but we had a great tour guide (Thomas). The tour was also not too taxing for older folks; plenty of stops where you could take a seat for a few minutes.

Thomas was an excellent guide. His presentation was engaging with so much detail about Galveston’s history and development as a city in the 1800’s. Their port was a critical part of their businesses and for a while Galveston was the capital of Texas. But when the 1900 storm hit Galveston, it devastated the city and changed its future. The worst natural disaster ever in the U.S. Thomas told us about the long recovery of Galveston and that ghosts are part of their city. One fascinating fact after another throughout the tour! I highly recommend this tour.

Lots of history, thomas was very knowledgeable. Interesting ghost stories. He even took more time with us. He pointed out various buildings and definitely captured your attention.

Thomas led a great tour! He gave great bits of history while telling us stories of some of the more notable spirits all while being fun and telling jokes. The tour was a great way to get to know the island a little better on our first night.

Took my daughter and a group of her friends on this tour for her 18th birthday. Thomas was very informative and kept everyone interested and entertained throughout the tour, which is not an easy thing to do with teenagers. Even though we are locals we learned lots of things about the island we never knew. Would definitely recommend this tour. Thanks for a fun evening Thomas!
