Ervaar de ervaring van een lokale inwoner van Soweto door je dag door te brengen in een van de grootste townships in Zuid-Afrika; terwijl we door de levendige Soweto Township rijden en lopen. Kom genieten door de rijke geschiedenis van Soweto door te nemen, want we vullen het ook aan door te lunchen in een lokaal restaurant voor een Sowetan-lunch. We bezoeken het Apartheidsmuseum, hier leer je over de gebeurtenissen van de apartheid in Zuid-Afrika.
Rij door het FNB-stadion waar de Wereldbekerfinale 2010 werd georganiseerd
Vervolgens rijden we naar de Soweto Towers die nu het herkenningspunt van Soweto is.
Daarna bezoeken we een van de meest prestigieuze straat ter wereld Vilakazi Street; hier krijg je de kans om souvenirs te kopen en het Mandela House te bekijken. (Op eigen kosten)
Bezoek het Hector Pieterson-monument; waar je een overzicht krijgt van de gebeurtenissen van de Soweto Studentenopstand van 1976.
Bekijk het Mandelahuis van buitenaf en krijg een overzicht van zijn leven. Let op: de toegang tot het Mandela House Museum is niet inbegrepen. We geven u altijd graag de tijd om op eigen kosten naar binnen te gaan.
Hier geniet u van een heerlijke lunch met lokale gerechten in restaurant Sakhumzi.

I booked this tour with my wife and we were not sure what to expect from this tour. Our tour guide, Thabang, was incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and friendly. He was well prepared to answer any questions we had to ask. The experience was very eye opening and educational. When our guide shared some personal experiences with us it felt more than a tour but like we were close friends, homies if you would. I will certainly recommend this tour to any one that wants to be more than a tourist and get immersed in the history of Johannesburg and South Africa.

Tabang was our tour guide and by the end of the day he was a friend. He picked us up and dropped us off. There was no question that was off limits - current or historical. An amazing experience and education. Ask for him - you won’t be disappointed. Even with some covid limitations, it was a remarkable day giving us remarkable insights to the city of Soweto - it was an insiders tour - from downtown Johannesburg, constitutional hill, vilikasi street - leading to the history of the 1976 uprising. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and articulate showing us and educating us about these historical events and locations. Safety was never a issue and we got an amazing look into the history, the life and people of Soweto. If you are in Johannesburg I cannot recommend the tour enough - it is a journey into the dark past and the bright future of this amazing country, inspiring hope in humanity and the miracle that is South Africa.
