Deze leuke en verhelderende tour neemt je mee verder dan waar normale toeristen naartoe gaan en geeft je een glimp van hoe de tijden zijn veranderd. Reis terug in de tijd, in transport uit het Sovjettijdperk terwijl je kameraad-pionier je kennis laat maken met onze 'roze stad'. Waardeer de pracht van de Sovjet-architectuur, ervaar de nostalgie van het Lenin-plein, zie de vruchten van socialistische arbeid, proef een "lunch" van de Sovjet-metro en nog veel meer... 100% gegarandeerd om je verlangens en nieuwsgierigheid uit het Sovjettijdperk te bevredigen. Tijdens de Sovjetperiode heette het Leninplein en op het plein stond een standbeeld van Vladimir Lenin. Tot 1988 werden twee keer (oorspronkelijk driemaal) per jaar Sovjetparades en vieringen gehouden. Na de onafhankelijkheid van Armenië werd het standbeeld van Lenin verwijderd en kreeg het plein een nieuwe naam.
Het is een van de oorspronkelijke metrostations in de stad Yerevan en werd op 7 maart 1981 voor het publiek geopend. Het is via een voetgangerstunnel verbonden met het aangrenzende treinstation van Yerevan. Het is genoemd naar David van Sassoun, van wie een standbeeld buiten het treinstation staat.
Bangladesh is de naam die wordt gegeven aan een gebied in het district Malatia-Sebastia. Het staat bekend om de verkoop van landbouwproducten. We zullen lokale beroemde snacks proeven en rondkijken op de markt.
Verken de CCCP (USSR)-wijk Yerevan, vol prachtige appartementsgebouwen waarin het proletariaat is gehuisvest. Leer het verhaal achter de laatste gebouwen gebouwd in de Sovjettijd en proef het zelfs heerlijke Sovjet-ijs.
Genesteld tussen de rivier de Hrazdan en het waterkanaal van Hrazdan is dit een van de vele kinderspoorwegen die in de USSR bestonden en na het uiteenvallen bleven functioneren. Het werd gebouwd in 1937 en was als kind de beste plek om gemotiveerd te raken en meer over treinen te leren. Het oorspronkelijke hoofdstationgebouw en de eerste locomotief uit 1937 zijn nog steeds intact en zorgen al bijna 100 jaar voor overwinnaars.

Very good tour to interesting places with exciting explanations and stories. A good complement to a self guided tour.

Worth the price if you have 3-5 free hours in a day. The tour guide will take you on the metro, buy you an old school Armenian snack in the underground of the metro, take you around a neighborhood with Soviet apartment buildings, and to an abandoned amusement park. It was informative and friendly. There ended up being two other attendees during my session in May 2026.

Despite it snowing and me being the only person on the tour, it went ahead and Marina spoke most enthusiastically throughout. Great attention to detail and the locations are well thought out. They are places a tourist would never think of going and provide a real glimpse of Armenian life from the past and present. Best of all was that this was an honest and objective overview of the Soviet era. Neither romanticising nor disparaging. This provided insightful discussion and comparison to the modern day and as to life in the west from that era.

First of all I have to say that our tour guide as very knowledgeable and confident. Don't think you're going to squeeze in any extra stops on this tour! In all seriousness though the entire route/tour/plan was GREAT. It was very methodical, well planned and executed. Our guide was very knowledgeable and quite nicely interspersed her personal history with what was going on at the time. For anyone who likes Soviet history, this REALLY turned out to be a very pleasant afternoon! If you want to know what "Bangladesh" is all about, you'll have to join the tour to find out :-)

We loved our half-day Soviet Tour of Yerevan. Marine was our guide and we were so grateful that even though there was just two of us--she did not cancel the tour. My sister and I enjoyed learning about the Soviet times in Yerevan. This tour was unique with a mix of walking and driving. I appreciated that we got to see and explore various locations around the city--such as a planned neighborhood built in the 80s, the Bangladeshi Market, and both the Railway Station and the Children's Railway (an entertainment destination in Soviet time), and we got to walk through the Kond Pedestrian Tunnel as well. Marine was most knowledgeable and personable. I would highly recommend her for any tour!
