Met een deskundige gids naast je om de 1915-1916 geallieerde campagne uit te leggen - grotendeels ondernomen door het Australische en Nieuw-Zeelandse Legerkorps (ANZAC) - bezoek je de sites van The Nek, Johnston's Jolly, ANZAC Cove en Lone Pine en Chunuk Bair; en stop onderweg voor een lunch. Geniet van de onverdeelde aandacht van je gids tijdens deze kleine groepstour, beperkt tot 14 personen.

Verlaat je centraal gelegen hotel in Istanbul in de vroege ochtend met een bus met airconditioning. Ontspan vervolgens op weg naar het beruchte schiereiland Gallipoli, de locatie van een van de bloedigste militaire campagnes van WOI. Tijdens je reis hoor je lastige feiten van je gids over de mislukte geallieerde landcampagne die in april 1915 begon met de aanvoer van het Australische en Nieuw-Zeelandse legerkorps (ANZAC). Van de ANZAC's werd verwacht dat ze Ottomaanse Turkse troepen terug zouden slaan en Istanboel - toen bekend als Constantinopel - zouden innemen om de strijdbare Russische troepen te helpen. In januari 1916 was de campagne echter voorbij en evacueerden de geallieerde troepen met een geloofd totaal verlies aan beide zijden van 100.000 levens.
Na ongeveer 5 uur komt u aan in Gallipoli voor uw rondleiding door de belangrijkste locaties. Bezoek ANZAC Cove, het strand van de landingen op 25 april, en The Nek, het toneel van een tragische Australische aanval. Breng ook tijd door bij Johnston's Jolly, waar de originele Turkse en geallieerde loopgraven nog steeds staan.
Je zult ook de spookachtige gedenktekens bekijken die de doden herinneren. Bezoek de aangrijpende Australian Lone Pine Cemetery en Memorial gegraveerd met de namen van bijna 5.000 soldaten, en bekijk het Nieuw-Zeelandse Memorial in Chunuk Bair, de locatie van een heroïsche Nieuw-Zeelander stand in augustus 1915.
Je tour bevat een stop voor de lunch in de vroege middag, inclusief je maaltijd en drankjes op eigen kosten. Om ongeveer 18:00 uur verlaat u de slagvelden en ontspant u terwijl u terugrijdt naar Istanbul, waar uw tour eindigt met een drop-off van het hotel. This was an awesome experience. Our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly. Although a long day. Very spiritual, very sad at times but well worth the honour to pay respects to those that fought so we could be here today.

It was a full day (early start; late finish) but worth it. Knowledgeable guide and fun group of Aussies on the tour. Turks are great people and it is a crying shame we went to war and killed each other. No shame on the soldiers but poor show on generals and politicians.

A very good day with an excellent guide who knew the history from both sides. The minibus was comfortable and not too arduous. We visited the relevant sites and heard stories of valour and bad decision making which is what Gallipoli is all about. An essential pilgrimage for ANZACS

Was an honour to see the ANZAC Battlefields at Gallipoli. My guide, Hasan, was really knowledgable and interesting, helped me learn a lot. Hasan was also funny and a really good story teller, so he made a good day great and very memorable. It is a long day with a long drive from Istanbul, but if you are like me and really want to see where our ANZAC bravely stood, then its worth it.

Great tour. The group size was about 15 in a nice mini bus which was really good. Pick up and drop off from my hotel was very useful in such a large city. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. He also gave great insight from the Turkish perspective as well as the Anzac which was very interesting.

The actual Gallipoli experience was OK The young guy that was our guide was too glib for our taste about a very poignant pilgrimage family members made to visit the battle sites of Gallipoli. The main problem we had was the transportation on the way back to Istanbul when we were squished in the back for five hours and the level of service regarding food etc and the extreme squash were well below our expectations. Our complaints to the Crowded House company were dismissed rudely we felt and although the driver was very professional we felt that the owners of the business were not open to any criticism or suggestions for improvements
