Het hart van de Finse keuken ligt in zuiverheid : wilde bessen, paddenstoelen, wild uit diepe bossen, vis uit heldere meren en de zee, romige zuivelproducten en stevig brood gemaakt van rogge en haver. Ga mee met je lokale gids voor een smakelijke wandeling door de ziel van Helsinki. Terwijl u heerlijke lokale smaken proeft, hoort u ook fascinerende verhalen over het verleden en heden van de stad. Tijdens deze tour ervaar je niet alleen eten, maar ook de unieke architectuur, het design en de cultuur van Helsinki – plus insidertips over waar je kunt winkelen en verder kunt verkennen! Bewonder het treinstation, een mooi voorbeeld van onze art nouveau van Eliel Saarinen, van buiten en van binnen. Dicht bij het station 2 extra belangrijke gebouwen, het nationale theater en de nationale galerij.
In dit gebied zijn veel zeer interessante bezienswaardigheden te zien, zoals het Parlement, het museum voor hedendaagse kunst, de nieuwe muziekzaal, de Finlandia-zaal en Oodi, onze nieuwe centrale bibliotheek die in 2019 de prijs heeft gewonnen als beste bibliotheek van de wereld .
Als de tijd het toelaat, een bezoek in een van de grootste centrale bibliotheken van de wereld! Eten proeven!
Hier hebben we een van onze stops. De stop wordt gemaakt in een 19e-eeuwse villa.
Hier, in deze voormalige arbeiderswijk, zullen we genieten van het lokale leven.
De tour hier afsluiten + visbord en dessert + koffie.

I have had guides from all over the world and Maddalena is among the very best. We thought we booked a food tour of Helsinki, which we got, but equally as important and impressive was the tour of the city, told through the eyes of a local with the passion and pride of a longtime resident. The food was well paced and thoughtfully modified for two of us who are pescatarians. Each dish was specifically selected to expose us to Finnish culture and the varied geography of the country. We also learned a lot about the city, its history, and its iconic buildings and architecture. Educational, fun, and very interesting. Highly recommend.
This was a great way to explore Helsinki and taste authentic foods from the region. Highly recommended.
We had a wonderful tour with Magdalena. She was very knowledgeable about the history of Finland and Helsinki and took us to some wonderful spots to taste traditional Finnish food. She was great with our teenagers and even spent extra time with us at the end and gave us tips for the rest of our visit. Definitely try out her tour- it was amazing

We had a great time with Maddalena on our food tour through Helsinki. The tour included tastings of many game meats, fruits, berries and of course fish! We walked to many of the main sites as well as some off the tourist path. Maddalena is incredibly knowledgeable and personable making the tour a wonderful way to start our trip in Helsinki!

We visited the waterfront food market in Helsinki in May 2024, as part of an Insight Vacations 'Northern Capitals' tour. Great venue! We tasted smoked reindeer - pleasant! I returned to have some lunch at a cafe inside - excellent!

Maddelena is an awesome guide! She shared information about the food, daily life, and local history. All of the shops/vendors seem to genuinely enjoy the interaction. Because these tours are private, they are efficient and there is a lot of customization that can be done. I found Maddelena more responsive via email in planning this tour than others I’ve been on in other cities. I highly recommend this tour early in your trip so she can help you book other meals during your stay! Our group of 4 really enjoyed it.

My wife and I had a wonderful time being guided by Maddalena to some of Kallio's hidden corners, enjoying superb food and drink in locations known to the locals. We saw and learned a lot about the area, and also about Helsinki and Finland - both its history and its current affairs.
