De Tarrytown Music Hall, gebouwd in 1885 door chocolademagnaat William L. Wallace, heeft vaudeville-acts, stomme films en wereldberoemde artiesten ontvangen. Dit prachtig bewaard gebleven theater staat ook bekend om zijn paranormale waarnemingen – waardoor het een perfect uitgangspunt is voor de spookachtige geschiedenis van Sleepy Hollow.
Deze vredige groene ruimte markeert de exacte plek waar de Britse majoor John André gevangen werd genomen tijdens de Revolutionaire Oorlog, en legt Benedict Arnolds verraad bloot. Het Captors’ Monument herdenkt de drie lokale milities wier waakzaamheid de loop van de Amerikaanse geschiedenis veranderde. Vandaag de dag is het park een schilderachtige, contemplatieve stop—met vreemde activiteit bij zonsopgang.
Het gemeentegebouw aan Beekmanlaan 28. Ooit een rustig administratief centrum, heeft dit bakstenen gebouw na sluitingstijd een donkere reputatie. De lokale bevolking vertelt over gebieden waar voetstappen tot diep in de nacht echoën en huiveringwekkende schaduwfiguren verschijnen.
Ooit een bloeiend 18e-eeuws molen- en handelscentrum, werd Philipsburg Manor gebouwd op de arbeid van degenen wier namen en verhalen hier nog steeds resoneren. Bezoekers melden bizarre activiteiten. De rustige buitenkant verbergt een geschiedenis die weigert te rusten.
Deze bescheiden kruising is de legendarische plek waar het lot van Ichabod Crane werd bezegeld in het verhaal van Washington Irving. Hoewel de oorspronkelijke brug verdwenen is, beweren de lokale bevolking dat een gecamoufleerde rijder nog steeds door de mist rijdt op maanloze nachten. Het geraas van hoeven heeft meer dan een paar voorbijgangers doen schrikken.

Since it was so crowded, we actually did this audio tour by car and it worked out perfectly. Great way to enhance and educate yourself on the area while driving through town. (In traffic)

Scam. Don’t book this. There is no tour. Went to the Tarrytown Music Hall and was informed by the staff that is no such tour. It puts the employees in an awkward position to have to inform people that there is no such tour.

Guests access the tour directly on their smartphone and explore at their own pace, as described on your purchase voucher. This was pretty good. I did like how I could listen to the content for a week, because I missed some of the details and was able to listen again while driving home.
Pretty bloody!!! I've taken other audio tours that pulled punches, but this one is actually pretty intense. Glad I didn't have to download yet another junk app.
Actual walk and tour info entertaining, after you figured out how to get it. Takes about 11/2 hrs to complete if you check out each stops and listen to tape. That said, my assumption that we’d get a pair of headphones from a human being at the location address given was NOT the case. There is no one at the address given and no one at the address knows anything. After scouring my confirmation, I noticed a help link … which takes you to a chat link where you fill in a lot of info and somehow get to another link that supplies the Tour, locations and audio. EarPods are recommended…. However, if your a small group , 2 , only buy 1 ticket and you can easily listen together on speaker.

Never received a confirmation email with the link to start the self guided walking tour. Had to call a customer service number. She sent me the link. After trying, trying to put in the excruciating amount of information that for some reason you were looking for, we were still unable to start the tour. Absolutely ridiculous and seems like a scam to me.

The time that we were supposed to go to the music hall it's wasn't open to visitors. Another of the locations was also closed for an event. The information provided as a guide was minimal and didn't really provide guidance. Won't purchase one of these self guided tours again.

Very fun and very long. I think it was two miles. Went into the headless horseman stuff, including the site of the old bridge and the graveyard where he is said to be buried. Honestly pretty creepy tour. I was tired at the end and took an Uber from the last stop, its more of a straight line than a loop.
Very good. Wish it was in Spanish. Actually bloodier and gorier than I expected. I like that kind of stuff but it might be too bloody for young kids.
