We zijn verheugd om te delen dat tijdens de seizoenen 2024 en 2025, walvissen werden gezien op 100% van onze Reizen! Sla de drukke boten over en ga mee met Sitka Expeditions voor een onvergetelijke walvisspotten en wildlife ervaring aan boord van ons comfortabele afgesloten schip. Onze levenslange ervaren gids haalt u op op een aangewezen ontmoetingsplaats, waar uw haven ook is. Van daaruit begint u aan een ongelooflijke reis op een onvergetelijke plek. We zullen rond Sitka verkennen op zoek naar bultruggen, orka's (orka's), zeeotters, bruine kustberen, Amerikaanse zeearenden en nog veel meer andere kustdieren.

Great experience, there was a total of 6 of us on the boat. Super nice and personal because of that, we felt like locals we got to every location before any other boat arrived! Props to Parker our captain! We saw a bear, bald eagles, salmon, and plenty of whales. There was indoor and outdoor seating, very casual excursion
Excellent. Saw bears, otters, sea lions and whales! Money well spent. Frank our driver was awesome and Jackie, our nature guide was awesome. Very knowledgeable.
Jac was easy to find. She gave interesting information on our way to see some nature. We got to see salmon jumping, a bear, whale, sea lions and otters in the distance. The boat driver Frank was helpful too.
The staff went above and beyond for both of our parents with their electric scooters. The real plus was the amount of whales and beautiful wildlife we saw!

Excursion was GREAT! Jac & Frank were awesome. Very knowledgeable about Alaska, the wild life and where to see them. We saw bears, eagles, sea otters and sea lions. Highly recommend this excursion.
The whale watching and wildlife tour was one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about the wildlife and the local area throughout the tour. The captain did an excellent job positioning the boat, so everyone had great views and plenty of opportunities for photos. We were lucky enough to see humpback whales, bald eagles, sea otters, sea lions, ad even salmon. It was an unforgettable experience, and the crew's expertise made it even better. If you're look for an incredible wildlife tour with a friendly professional crew, I highly recommend this one!
The tour leaders were extremely knowledgeable. We did not see a lot of wildlife. We saw a lot of salmon at the hatchery. We saw one sea lion, and we did a lot of traveling in the boat across the sound to get to an area where the whales are. There were a lot of whales, but they never breached the water. The most we saw of them were spouting and the tail flipping up in the air when they were going down to dive. It was also a common of sea otters, but they were so far away. You couldn’t even see them unless you had a professional camera. It was a small boat and it was rough going getting across the bay.

We actually saw all of the wildlife we hope to show on every tour, including humpback whales, sea lions, sea otters, and salmon, so from a wildlife standpoint it was exactly the kind of day we strive for. We do have to smile a little at the expectation that humpback whales should breach on command. While breaches certainly happen, they're actually one of the less common whale behaviors. Most whale watching in Southeast Alaska consists of watching whales surface to breathe, hearing their powerful blows, and seeing their flukes as they dive, which is exactly what you described. For many wildlife enthusiasts, those fluke dives are one of the highlights of the experience. As for the sea otters, they are wild animals and often rest at a respectful distance. Fortunately, we provide binoculars on board to help guests enjoy those sightings, even when they choose not to swim up and introduce themselves. Regarding the water conditions, this is actually the one part of your review that surprised us. The area you referenced is typically the calmest water in Sitka, and I specifically remember that day because the conditions were exceptionally calm. It's certainly possible you felt the wake from another vessel, but it wasn't representative of the sea conditions that day. We're sorry the wildlife didn't perform exactly as you had hoped, but we're grateful you joined us and appreciate your kind words about our crew.

Highly recommend Sitka Expeditions. We did the Whale watching and Wildlife tour. Company was communicative throughout, and I appreciate that they kept us informed on pick up etc. via text. Our guide Jac was a super nice young lady, friendly and informative. As was our boat Captain. Boats are smaller I believe around 15 passengers which was nice, more personalized. Whales and wildlife can be hit or miss. We were lucky and saw numerous whales, Sea Otters, Sea Lions and Bald Eagles. I did like that our Captain and Guide were very respectful of all wildlife we encountered. Again, a high recommend!
