Sintra wordt vaak beschouwd als de romantische hoofdstad van de wereld en zal je hart zeker met liefde vullen. Sintra wordt door UNESCO beschouwd als werelderfgoed en heeft een aantal geweldige hoogtepunten die u kunt ervaren. Van de vier magnifieke Sintra-wonderen die in het reisschema worden voorgesteld, zul je de magische ervaring hebben om er één naar keuze te bezoeken, naast Pena Palace (tickets alleen voor Pena Palace zijn inbegrepen bij de Skip-The-Line-optie). Na meer dan een eeuw als vakantieresort heeft Cascais een zekere bekendheid die recentere resorts missen. De geschiedenis is zichtbaar in de villa's langs de kust. De beschutte zandbaai was ooit een prehistorische vissershaven.
Voordat je naar Cabo da Roca gaat, wil je misschien een wandeling maken door het historische centrum van Sintra. Dit is een goed moment om uit te rusten, te lunchen en wat traditionele regionale gebakjes te proberen. Cabo da Roca, het meest westelijke punt van continentaal Europa, is nog zo'n geweldige plek om wat foto's te maken en de zeewind te voelen.
We stijgen ’s ochtends op vanuit Lissabon richting het door UNESCO beschermde Penapaleis. Het 19e-eeuwse Romantische paleis is een wonder om te ontdekken en een die je niet snel zult vergeten. Het is een van de beste plekken om foto's te maken. Het is hoog op de top van de berg geplaatst met een prachtig uitzicht dat zich kilometers uitstrekt, helemaal tot aan de oceaan. We maken een wandeling door het historische centrum van Sintra. Dit is een goed moment om uit te rusten, te lunchen en traditionele regionale gebakjes te proberen. Je zult genieten van een uur vrije tijd!
De prachtige Quinta da Regaleira is nog een UNESCO-geklasseerde site met eeuwenoude gebeeldhouwde gebouwen, ongelooflijke tuinen en een gotische bries die iedereen die durft binnen te komen zal betoveren. Vol geschiedenis erachter, kom je alles te weten over de grotten, geheime bronnen en kunst die zijn ontstaan uit het metselwerk, de tempeliers en het rozenkruis. ( Voorgesteld monument )
Dit prachtige pand is een jungle van exotische bomen en bloeiende struiken. De geschiedenis gaat terug tot de tijd van de Moren, maar het werd vernoemd naar een kleine 16e-eeuwse kapel gewijd aan Onze-Lieve-Vrouw van Monteserrat, uit Catalonië, Spanje. ( Voorgesteld monument )
In het hart van het dorp Sintra verrijzen een paar ongewone conische schoorstenen boven het Koninklijk Paleis. Dit paleis werd het favoriete zomerverblijf van het hof en bleef, als de residentie van de Portugese koninklijke familie, tot in de jaren 1980. De geleidelijke wederopbouw van het paleis resulteerde in een fascinerende amalgaam van stijlen. ( Voorgesteld monument )

We had the tour with Ana, and she was amazing! We loved that she was so knowledgeable and explained the history briefly. When you ask follow up questions, she will get into more details about what you are seeing. She was friendly and a delight to spend the day with. I couldn’t envision a better tour guide.
My friend and I just did the half day tour with Filipe and he was the best! He shared a lot of history about everywhere we passed by and was very sweet. Our half day tour turned into a full day tour as he made sure we took our time and visited everything we had planned. We were very lucky he was able to escort us on most stops and personally guide us through and share a lot of great info. He was able to take many photos of us and shared via whatsapp which was so nice. He was even able to add a quick stop for is to Pasteis de Belem just so I could a few up and bring back with us. Highly recommend this experience if you want to be taken care of and could not be more happy Filipe was our guide.

This was a great tour. Although expensive, it was good value for the cost. Our tour guide Ana picked us up, dropped us off at two separate places to explore, and then accompanied us thru the Pena Palace. We were able to skip the line, as promised. Ana was so nice, drove expertly, and helped to make it a great day. She even recommended a beach to us that we went to the next day, and loved. We didn’t have a lot of time in Lisbon, so this quick tour made sense for us to be able to see Pena Palace. The traffic/parking situation in Sintra seemed really challenging and we didn’t have to deal with any of it. Ana took care of everything …. And she made it look easy. That’s why I think the tour was worth the cost.

We had an amazing day touring Pena Palace, Cascais and Lisboa! Our guide was phenomenal! He was patient with the kids and seniors in our group and incredibly knowledgeable about everything. Would highly recommend for a small group!
