Dit is de beste manier om het natuurpark Sintra-Cascais te ontdekken en te verkennen, een waar paradijs in de buurt van Lissabon. Tijdens deze tour bezoek je enkele van de prachtige stranden en bergen van dit natuurpark, sta je permanent in contact met de natuur en geniet je van unieke landschappen. Op de fiets bezoeken we het prachtige dorp Sintra, bekend als het "land van sprookjes", waar we de lokale zoetigheden proeven (Queijadas de Sintra en Travesseiros), we passeren fantastische kastelen en paleizen, die toebehoorden aan de Portugese koninklijke familie en vele miljonairs die hun luxe vakantie maakten. Sintra is absoluut een mythische plek! Met de toevoeging van de prachtige kust van Cascais en zijn talloze en charmante stranden aan deze tour, kunnen we zeggen dat het gelijk staat aan "de kers op de taart". Deze tour wordt het hoogtepunt van je reis naar Lissabon.

Sintra is een prachtige villa vol geschiedenis, gelegen aan een van de uitlopers van de Serra de Sintra. Met zijn kastelen, paleizen en kleine straatjes vol kleuren is het een authentiek sprookjesachtig decor. Hier nemen we een korte pauze om het dorp te bekijken, koffie te drinken en het traditionele gebak te proeven.
Dit is een mysterieuze plek, in de tuin zijn er verschillende tunnels en een put waar je naar binnen kunt. Op dagen dat er veel bezoekers zijn is het onmogelijk om het binnenland te bezoeken, je verspilt veel tijd in de rij, op andere dagen laten we je deze plek bezoeken.
Naast een bezoek aan het dorp Sintra, bezoeken we tijdens deze tour ook het natuurpark van Sintra, omgeven door prachtige bomen, genietend van een prachtig uitzicht in een betoverende sfeer.
Enorme kliffen naast de Atlantische Oceaan en sommige stranden maken ook deel uit van dit natuurpark, daarom fietsen we ook bovenop de kliffen en bezoeken we enkele stranden, vooral het prachtige strand Adraga, waar het op warmere dagen mogelijk is om een beetje zwemmen.
Dit is het meest westelijke punt van Europa, het passeren van deze symbolische plek is een ander hoogtepunt van deze tour.
Nog steeds in het natuurpark van Sintra bezoeken we een van de hoogste punten van deze bergketen, de Santuario da Peninha, die een absoluut prachtig uitzicht heeft. Op zonnige dagen is het mogelijk om Lissabon, Cascais en de hele uitgestrektheid van de Atlantische Oceaan te zien.
Dit is een van de beroemdste stranden van Portugal, bekend om zijn grote en krachtige golven, het is geweldig om te surfen en windsurfen.
Gelegen tussen Serra de Sintra, Praia do Guincho en Vila de Cascais, vind je deze plek, waar de zee soms zo sterk is dat men deze plek de mond van de hel begon te noemen.
Deze stad werd erg beroemd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog, toen veel Europese koninklijke families hier kwamen wonen. Hier fietsen we dicht bij de zee, een authentiek blauw meer, dicht bij prachtige huizen en adembenemende landschappen.

We had such a fun day. Maria was a wonderful guide. She took us to an adorable pastry shop to a treat early in the day. Gave us a choice between grabbing sandwiches to eat along the way or going to a restaurant for lunch. We picnicked in the forest. She spent an extra couple hours with us. No rush, just wanted everyone to have a good time.
Maria ensured we had an incredible adventure from gaining e-bike confidence to teaching us how to take the train to seeing just about every every angle of Sintra from sea level to a 1600 foot elevation gain. We exceeded our daily steps as well as e-biked over 20 miles. This excursion exceeded every expectation! Thank you, Maria!
Maria was our guide for the day and she was brilliant, giving us lots of facts for all of the areas we visited. The route was great, Sintra simply stunning. Loved the whole experience and would recommend to everyone!
We had gone on their 7 Hills ride the day before and It was amazing, and we were looking forward to this one to see more of Portugal outside of a Lisbon. Edwardo was amazing. Great history and sights and his knowledge of every area we went by and in was great. Castles, sandy beaches. amazing forest and homes too. We had lunch had a fabulous restaurant he recommended and it delivered. It will get its own review, but it was called Nicolau. Outstanding salads, tacos, sandwiches and more. Maria was an excellent tour guide. The day was better than I expected, challenges when we were off-road… beautiful when we were on pavement. Plenty of stops along the way as we desired, everything flexible. I highly recommend this E bike tour.

Miguel was a fantastic guide. Fun, informative and safely navigated crowds and traffic. Saw a variety of scenery we would not have seen any other way. The e-bikes exceeded expectations.

It was one of the best bike tours we have done! We got to choose to go off road or not. We chose to do off road and there wasn’t anyone else, and we were in a national forest. The food at lunch was phenomenal. I am not usually a sangria person, but it was great and refreshing! Just be prepared for wind blown sand near and at the first beach.

We booked an e-bike tour exploring Sintra and Cascais. Our guide was Maria from freebiketourslisbon.com. Maria was very knowledgeable and getting us on and off the train from Lisbon to Sintra and then back from Cascais was not an easy task. She was very safety conscious, which when riding a bike is very important to us. We stopped at a great little restaurant that was out of the way and Maria suggested a great meal. Great workout even on an e-bike! If you enjoy cycling this tour with Maria is highly recommended!

It's a pretty long day, lots of time on the train. But the park and the views are fantastic. The guide was nice, however she should have stuck to the time advertised. We got back too late.
Thank you for participating in the tour, and we're glad you enjoyed the route and the guide. The train journey takes about 35/40 minutes; the problem is that trains run less frequently on Sundays, which sometimes causes delays. On the other hand, the tour duration (8 hours) is indicative and may vary for several reasons, such as the weather, how everyone cycles, etc. Safety and comfort are always a priority. In any case, as we always try to improve, we will take your observations into account. Thank you
First of all this tour gave us far more than we ever imagined. Maria was an excellent leader and guide and she made sure we were always safe. We discovered and saw sights in the Sintra area from old town Sintra, to forests, back roads, mountain tops and beach’s. It was a wonderful full day of adventure. We biked over 50 km’s stopping for a coffee break and a lunch break all the perfect time. This is one of our most memorable and enjoyable guided tours we have been a part of. Would highly recommend.
