Het archeologische complex van Sillustani (FUNERAL TOWERS) ligt op het hoge plateau, omringd door een magische lagune genaamd Umayo van verbluffende schoonheid in de westelijke stad Puno. Sillustani is een van de belangrijkste necropolis in de Andes-wereld die bekend staat om zijn gigantische funeraire torens "CHULLPAS". De beroemde Chullpas zijn torens gebouwd in steen die werden gebruikt door verschillende culturen, waaronder de collas en later door de Inca's. De chullpa van de Lizard onderscheidt zich als de hoogste van de site en bereikt meer dan 12 meter hoogte. In de omgeving ziet u enkele waru waru, kunstmatige aardheuvels die zijn ontworpen om gewassen te beschermen tegen vorst en overstromingen. Met een beetje geluk in Sillustani kunt u ook wilde varkens van Indië, vogels zoals flamingo's en andere wilde dieren uit de hoge Andes observeren.

Je wordt om 14.00 uur opgehaald bij je hotel zonder privébus. Het duurt ongeveer 45 minuten om bij de archeologische vindplaats Sillustani te komen. Hier zie je de grafgraven van Incan en Pre-Incan. Nadat je ook de Umayo-lagune hebt bezocht voordat je terugkeert naar Puno. Je keert terug naar Puno rond 17:30 uur.

Great tour! It was well organized, from the pickup at my hotel to the stops along the way. Ricardo was not only an informative guide but also very considerate and friendly. Sillustani was amazing as was the view of the lagoon.
My "guide" was 25 minutes late collecting me. We walked round the block and I was ushered into a random taxi, no seat belts. Three minutes later, swapped into another taxi, no seat belts. The taxi driver drove like Mad Max in an apocalyptic race out of town, 110kph in a 40kph, no seatbelts. After 35 minutes I was "swapped" out to join another tour in the middle of nowhere who had been looking at Alpacas and Guinea Pigs - great. On the bus with a new "guide" we arrived at Sillustani. The new guide was excellent, the tour was worth going on but the travel company need a serious look at their logistics and customer safety.
We contacted the agency for their website was so easy they responded instantly, they were always available and solve our doubts, what I liked is that the prices they offer are the best I found and the SERVICE IS SPECTACULAR The tour was pleasant and fun with beautiful views of the lake. Everyone was kind, professional. The guide was excellent giving accurate and always HELPFUL information. SILLUSTANI IS A BEAUTIFUL PLACE with a good view..
Was a quick short half day trip. It was a good tour of the funeral tombs, there weren´t many people there so it was easy to walk around and click some nice photos. The guide explained many facts in details.
I really liked the way the agency worked very good, always pending, the personalized attention they gave us and the price that was comfortable, we had a great experience with my boyfriend, we enjoyed this tour very much that for me was complete.
We did not see many articles on this place, however we did this tour and it was a super nice trip. Just a half day and totally worth it. The site however is not that close to Puno but totally recommended. The views are very good. The guide was nice and shared a lot of insigghts.
Doing the tour to SILLUSTANI was the best option to enjoy as a family, Fred the guide gave us a good explanation about the place and we were really surprised by the beautiful history that each place of PUNO keeps and see the beautiful landscapes that it has from the funeral towers of SILLUASTANI.
We did the tour of SILLUSTANI, it was a very good experience, our guide WAS VERY ATTENTIVE, he always cared for our well-being plus you rating that he is a very experienced person and overall the whole agency provided us with a good Service, the organization was great, everything was prepared and I did not have to worry about anything, they fulfilled everything.
Not many travellers I came across spoke about this attraction. I decided to visit this place with lake Titicaca Trips in a group tour. There were not many people in the group. We grove almost for an hour from Puno to reach this place. The guide explained in detail about this place which was very interesting. The tour was very well organised and thanks to Lake Titicaca Trips for showing me the hidden gem.
With no clue of how to spend my day in Puno, i booked this tour. It was perfect. Adler, who guided me was very informative and helpful. It is a perfect half day trip to get a more idea and knowledge of the history and some insight of the Aymara culture. Totally worth it.
