Snorkelen in een wetsuit in IJsland is iets dat misschien gek klinkt, maar het kan een van de meest lonende dingen zijn die je ooit kunt doen. Horen wat onze gidsen weten en wat onze klanten zeggen na de tour, is de reden dat we je het wetsuit aanbieden. Wij zijn het enige bedrijf dat een wetsuit en een droogpak aanbiedt. Hierdoor kunnen meerdere mensen in uw groep beslissen wat echt het beste bij hen past om uw dag op maat te maken. De meeste mensen die voor het wetsuit kiezen, doen dit omdat ze naar beneden willen kunnen duiken. Daarom is deze optie populair bij duikers die niet over de vereiste brevetten voor de droogpakduik beschikken. Onder water overspoelt een serene stilte die je alleen ervaart door onder water te zijn in een wetsuit. Het is iets dat dit misschien wel de beste manier maakt om de wateren van Silfra te bekijken, constant meer dan 100 meter in zicht. Als je geen bijzonder zelfverzekerde zwemmer bent, is de droogpak-snorkel een gemakkelijkere optie voor jou.

- Minimumleeftijd is 12 jaar, neem contact op met jongere deelnemers en deelnemers ouder dan 65 moeten toestemming van een arts krijgen
- Minimaal 150 cm (4'9) lang / maximaal 200 cm (6'7) lang zijn, en minimaal 50 kg (99 lbs) / maximaal 120 kg (264 lbs) zijn
- Draag geen bril, maar neem contactlenzen mee of uw eigen masker op sterkte (als u er een heeft)
- Aanbevolen om kleding mee te nemen (het droogpak heeft een zeer kleine kans op lekken)
- Kleed je alsjeblieft volgens het weer - geen hakken of jeans
- Alle lengtes, gewichten en leeftijden van de deelnemers moeten aan de lokale operator worden doorgegeven. Als u dit niet verstrekt op het moment van boeking, neem dan onmiddellijk na boeking contact op met de leverancier om deze informatie te verstrekken
- Opmerking: elke gids kan één groep van maximaal zes deelnemers tegelijk helpen. Tijdens deze activiteit kunnen maximaal drie verschillende groepen aanwezig zijn.
- We raden aan om lang thermisch ondergoed en dikke wollen sokken als basislaag onder het droogpak te dragen
- Alle deelnemers moeten een medisch formulier invullen voordat ze aan de tour deelnemen. Zoek direct na het boeken van de ervaring een link naar de medische verklaring op uw ticketvoucher om er zeker van te zijn of u in aanmerking komt.

My travel group and I all did the wetsuit diving. We've done the drysuit diving in the past, and after comparing the two I absolutely prefer the wetsuit diving. Yes, you are wet throughout rather than staying dry underneath the suit, however the water does not feel as cold as you would think and your body acclimates pretty quickly. In both the wetsuit and drysuit, your hands, feet, and face go numb regardless, so we much prefer the freedom and flexibility of the wetsuit over the drysuit. When you are in the drysuit, you have to have your wrists and neck tightly bound with ties to ensure no water gets into your suit, so between the constriction around your neck and the bulkiness of the drysuit it can feel a lot more claustrophobic for some people (me included). If you are in the fence, be adventurous and try the wetsuit! You will feel more bada** haha As for our specific experience, Kaya was a wonderful guide! She was informative, knowledgeable, passionate, and very experienced. She was thorough with our prep and set up, and made us feel safe and accounted for the entire time. We would absolutely recommend her for this adventure!
We had an amazing time snorkeling through the crystal clear waters of the Silfra fissure. Based on our purchase, we were given the option of wet or dry suits. We chose the wet suits since we like to dive down a bit while snorkeling. While they keep you warm, you definitely get wet in these suits. If you want to stay much drier, I would opt for the dry suit that you can put over most of your clothes. This excursion may not be for everyone as it's not your typical snorkel experience (much too cold for any fish, wildlife, coral, etc.) and your face, hands and feet will get SUPER cold! Still, our guide was absolutely amazing, the fissure was stunningly beautiful under the perfectly clear water, and our included photos via the GoPro came out amazing. I'd definitely recommend this experience to do once in your life...and you'll really appreciate that nice, warm hot chocolate at the end!
This was an amazing experience! Kaya our instructor walked us through each step with our equipment and then expertly guided during our snorkeling trip. I was nervous getting ready because the equipment can be tight and uncomfortable, but as soon as I was in the water that all went away! Thank you to Kaya for all your help!
Our guide Kaya was amazing, she made everyone feel comfortable and safe during the journey and was extremely knowledgeable of the area and the safety that goes into snorkeling silfras 2 degree water!
We had an incredible snorkeling experience at Silfra, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Ines. From the very beginning, her attention to detail stood out. She took the time to ensure that every piece of equipment fit properly and explained everything clearly, which immediately put our group at ease. You could tell she was not just going through the motions—she was truly focused on making sure each person felt prepared and confident before getting into the water. What I appreciated most was how attentive she was to everyone’s comfort level. Snorkeling in glacial water can be a bit intimidating, but Ines checked in frequently, adjusted her pace to match the group, and created a calm, supportive environment. Whether someone was a first-timer or more experienced, she made sure everyone felt safe and able to enjoy the experience fully. Once in the water, she continued to guide us thoughtfully, pointing out features of the rift and making sure we stayed together while still giving us space to take in how surreal and beautiful Silfra is. Overall, this was a truly memorable experience, and Ines’ professionalism, care, and attention to detail made all the difference. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone considering snorkeling in Silfra.

It was an amazing experience. Our guide Kaja was great and the snorkeling in the pristine clean and icy cold waters of Silfra was unforgettable. It was not just the snorkelling itself it was the whole experience of being able to whitstand the elements. We were really lucky to pick a very nice December day that was not too cold and had no wind either. Having the experience with ice cold water swimming before I knew the feeling of extreme happiness aferwards. It just makes you laugh.

Such a cool thing to do, of course it was cold but I definitely think it was worth doing the wetsuit instead of drysuit. I could go under the water and do a little bit of free diving, it was hard staying under the water though, I was quite buoyant. It was quite hard to put the wetsuit on though but that’s all part of the adventure. Silfra in its self was very beautiful!
