Gelegen op een hoogte van 1118 voet van de zeespiegel stijgt een massieve rots uit de omliggende vlaktes van Dambulla van 600 voet hoog en meer dan 2000 voet lang. Het is de thuisbasis van het meest gerenommeerde grottencomplex van de wereld met prachtige Boeddha-afbeeldingen en rotsschilderingen van levendige kleuren en vormen gebouwd en geschilderd rond de 2e eeuw voor Christus (Anuradhapura-tijdperk) en voortgezet tot het Kandyan-tijdperk van de 18e eeuw. Sinhalese mensen noemen het 'Dambulu Gala' (Dambulla Rock) en de tempel wordt de 'Rangiri Dambulu Viharaya' (Golden Rock Dambulla Temple) genoemd.
Pidurangala Vihara is een oude boeddhistische tempel in het dorp Pidurangala in het district Matale, Sri Lanka. De tempel werd gebouwd op een massieve rots genaamd Pidurangala, die een paar kilometer ten noorden van het historische fort Sigiriya ligt.

Gihan is the best driver you can have in Sri Lanka. In my opinion he has 2 of the most important things we were looking for: he is a great person (always cheerful, funny and kind-hearted) and he is someone you can trust 100% (he really cares about the client and is on your side defending your interests against any person or situation). I would always recommend him to any friend! Gihan es el mejor driver que puedes tener en Sri Lanka. En mi opinión tiene 2 de las cosas más importantes que buscabamos: es buenisima persona (siempre alegre, gracioso y buen corazon) y es alguien del que te puedes fiar al 100% (se vuelca con el cliente y realmente está de tu lado defrndiendo tus interés frente a cualquier persona o situacion). Lo recomendaría siempre para cualquier amigo!!
Very kind driver who drove us from the airport to Mirissa. It was a 2,5 hour drive but the time went fast. He told us a lot about Sri Lanka and other useful stuff. When we finished packing out he drove us to a beautiful restaurant where some of his family worked. Restaurant name: Concept La Mer

I did 5 days tour with Gihan during my stay in Sri Lanka. He was extremely helpful with knowledge of exploration in and around Lanka. Also, he’s trustworthy and helpful in many ways. Recently we visited Sri Lanka. It was a necessary trip for us after the pandemic as life had become hectic and monotonous. There we met Gihan who was our friend/guide/driver (In that order). He has an immense knowledge about SL, its heritage and culture. You can talk to him instantly and his friendly nature can win over anyone. Gihan is very punctual, professional and helpful. He will definitely go out of the way if you have any requests and fulfills them. We were in SL for 6 days and visited Kandy, Bentota, Galle and Colombo. Gihan, drove us to all the places and helped us to visit the important and iconic places. I would strongly recommend Gihan and his services to anyone planning for their tour to the island nation.
