WIJNGAARDEN EN OLIJFGAARDEN VAN SAN GIORGIO A LAPI Het bezoek begint met een wandeling door de wijngaarden in het hart van de Chianti, op een unieke locatie tussen Chianti Classico en Chianti Colli Senesi. Tijdens de wandeling ontdekt u de geschiedenis van ons familiebedrijf, de kenmerken van de bodem en het landschap, en het werk dat wij dagelijks in de wijngaard verrichten om druiven van hoge kwaliteit te produceren. Een bijzondere gelegenheid om het landschap en de omgeving die onze wijnen hun karakter geven van dichtbij te leren kennen.
KERK VAN SAN GIORGIO A LAPI Midden tussen de wijngaarden en olijfgaarden, in het hart van het Toscaanse platteland, ligt het kerkje van San Giorgio a Lapi. Het dateert uit de 11e eeuw en herbergt waardevolle fresco’s van de Nasini-school. Een plek vol geschiedenis, kunst en charme die de authentieke wortels van het gebied tussen de Chianti en de Crete Senesi weerspiegelt, waar spiritualiteit, traditie en landschap al eeuwenlang samenkomen.
WIJNKELDERS VOOR VINIFICATIE EN RIJPING De rondleiding gaat verder in de wijnkelders voor vinificatie en rijping, waar u alle fasen van het wijnproductieproces ontdekt, van de druivenoogst tot de rijping van de wijn. Aan de hand van het verhaal van onze familie leert u meer over de productietechnieken, de filosofie die ons werk leidt en het proces dat druiven omzet in wijn. Een unieke kans om het hart van het wijnhuis te betreden en de Toscaanse wijncultuur van dichtbij te ervaren.
PANORAMISCH TERRAS VAN SAN GIORGIO A LAPI De ervaring eindigt op het panoramische terras van San Giorgio a Lapi, met uitzicht op de heuvels van de Chianti en de Crete Senesi. In de schaduw van een eeuwenoude witte moerbeiboom geniet u van een proeverij van 4 wijnen uit onze eigen productie en van onze extra vergine olijfolie, begeleid door een complete traditionele Toscaanse lunch met voorgerecht, eerste gang, hoofdgerecht met bijgerecht en dessert, bereid met lokale ingrediënten. Een ontspannen moment te midden van de geuren, smaken en kleuren van het Toscaanse platteland, met uitzicht op twee van de mooiste landschappen van de streek rond Siena.

What an incredible experience at St Giorgio di Lapi. The wine tasting was set amongst some of the most beautiful vineyard scenery we’ve ever seen, making it a truly memorable afternoon. The lunch was exceptional – every course was beautifully prepared and of a standard that genuinely felt worthy of a Michelin star. The wines were outstanding and perfectly complemented the food. A special mention to Eleanor, whose knowledge, passion and enthusiasm brought the whole experience to life. Her tour was fascinating, informative and delivered with genuine warmth, making us feel incredibly welcome throughout. If you’re visiting the Chianti region, this is an absolute must. Fantastic wine, outstanding food, breathtaking views and first-class hospitality.

We were a family of 6 aged 19-60 and we all had the most wonderful time. Benedetta our guide was amazing. Her knowledge of the area, the vineyard and each of the wines produced there was impressive. We walked through the vineyard to the family chapel and were shown every aspect of their production. Even the lunch that accompanied the wine tasting was delicious and all overlooking the beautiful Tuscan Hills. Just idyllic. This place is a little gem. We would definitely recommend.

Our visit was amazing. We went on a fabulous tour with the greatest tour guide and had lunch on the terrace which was paired with a selection of their wines. While it is a smaller venue as compared to others, it was perfect for us. It was a relaxed, authentic, and intimate experience which is what we were looking for. The terrace view was so peaceful. We enjoyed their wine and olive oil so much that we had several bottles shipped back home, which was also a seamless and easy process. We will return should we be fortunate enough to visit Italy again. (Food was so good too!)

We had a great afternoon which started with a very informative and interesting tour. Our tour guide was terrific. It was followed by a 4-course meal and wine tasting to accompany the meal. The meal was one of the best while we were in Italy and the wine was superb as well. It was so beautiful to have lunch on the terrace overlooking the country side. We had wine and olive oil shipped back to the US because we loved it so much. It was a smaller venue but the service and setting gave it a very relaxed, intimate, and less touristy vibe. The ratings are high for a reason.

Helena was spectacular. A sommelier from France working at a fourth-generation vineyard and olive oil farm. Outstanding wine and EVO! The meal was extraordinary, prepared by a superior chef. Our favorite tour this time to Italy.
Only a 15 euro taxi journey from Siena but very peaceful and well away from the city hustle and bustle, lovely people food and wine plus information on wine making and etiquette.
San Giorgio is an incredible family run winery with a great history. We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the vineyard and production facilities, led by one of the sons of the family. We then had a great tasting of their wines and delicious lunch cooked by one of the other brothers. Overall an incredible experience and value for the cost, a must stop if in Siena.
