Siena: een wijnreis en proeverijervaring

In de heuvels van het prachtige Toscaanse platteland, op slechts 2 km afstand van het middeleeuwse centrum van Siena, is deze educatieve wijntour en proeverij 'wijn, wijn en leven' een tour van 3 uur in een biologische wijnmakerij. Leer meer over de verschillende stadia van het maken van wijn door de seizoenen heen en geniet van proeverijen en een lichte lunch.

Op een zeer eenvoudige manier, direct in de wijngaarden, zullen we het hebben over de agronomische cyclus van onze organische druiven met behulp van genetica, fysiologie, ecologie, snoeien, grondbewerking en oogsten.
In de kelder houden we rekening met de basisconcepten voor een kwaliteitsvolle wijnbereiding, waarbij we de chemische, fysische en microbiologische details van onze wijnen analyseren, tijdens alle belangrijke stappen van het proces van druif tot wijn: stamper-crushing, alcoholische gisting, maceratie , malolatische gisting, afrekking, stabilisatie, botteling en verfijning.
In onze ingerichte proeverij zullen we 4 van onze biologische wijnen proeven, allemaal typisch voor het gebied, om alle zintuiglijke tonen te begrijpen met behulp van onze ogen, neus en gehemelte. Een triomf van percepties om te verheffen waar we het meest van houden over wijn: de complexe wereld van emoties.
De proeverij zal eindigen met een "lichte lunch" die wijn en eten combineert. We zullen seizoensgebonden menu's aanbieden om het gehemelte te bevredigen en een gezondheidslichaam te behouden, voedsel te combineren met een van onze wijnen en met onze biologische extra vierge olijfolie.

Excellent overview of vineyard management and the wine production process! John is knowledgeable and very personable. The 4 (actually SIX) wines that we tasted were quite good and the meal accompanying it was excellent (lived the flourless chocolate cake!). All aspects of the 3-4 hours were carefully planned and curated. Thank you for a wonderful Tuscany experience!
We really enjoyed this tour of the gorgeous La Lastra vineyard! Lorenzo was a great guide - knowledgeable and fun! The main house was beautiful and meeting one of their lovely little cats was an added bonus. The lunch served was delicious, and they asked about dietary requirements beforehand which was great as my partner and I are vegetarian. The tour was the perfect mix of laidback, low pressure and genuinely really interesting. You should definitely go here if you’re visiting Siena!!!

This was a great experience. Lorenzo was awesome! The winery is so beautiful. The tour was on point and not too long. The wines were excellent. The food was unbelievable! Only problem was getting a taxi to the winery (a must even if mapping apps make it look walkable). If you rented a car, that would work also. We had a hard time getting a cab from Siena. I think the winery would get a taxi for you if you called that morning. They arranged a taxi for us upon leaving that showed up super quickly. Thank you so much!
This was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. Lorenzo was an outstanding guide—enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and entertaining from start to finish. The winery tour was informative without feeling rushed, the wines were excellent, and the food was delicious. To top it off, Lorenzo even helped us arrange a taxi back to Siena at the end of the tour. One tip: don’t try to walk to the winery. It looks possible on mapping apps, but it’s much farther and more difficult than it appears. You’ll definitely want to take a taxi. Since taxis can be hard to find in Siena, I recommend messaging the winery in advance to see if they can arrange one for you. Thank you for such a wonderful experience. We hope to visit again someday!
Exactly what we were looking for - close to Siena but located in beautiful countryside and organic. High quality greeting area and facilities, fantastic welcome, the guide was knowledgeable, approachable and humorous. The tasting itself was exceptional, excellent range of wine and the lunch far excelled expectations. I would highly recommend this experience.
