Shore Excursion: Halve dag Auckland vulkanen tour

Auckland staat bekend als de stad van zeilen, maar sommigen vinden dat het de stad van vulkanen moet worden genoemd! Krijg inzicht in de unieke vulkanische geologie van Auckland en verken de rijke Maori-geschiedenis tijdens deze tour van een halve dag vanuit Auckland. Beginnend met een schilderachtige rit langs de waterkant, krijg je exclusieve toegang met een voertuig tot de toppen en kraters van Auckland's jongste vulkanen (waaronder Mt Eden en One Tree Hill) met een Gids. Houd onderweg de wacht op inheemse Nieuw-Zeelandse wilde dieren en bewonder een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad. Aan het einde van de tour kunnen we je overal in de stad afzetten. Let op, bezochte vulkanen zijn inactief.

Loop naar de krater nabij de top van Mt Wellington, een 10.000 jaar oude vulkaan. Lees meer over de Maori-nederzettingen op de vulkanen en een inleiding tot het Auckland Volcanic Field. Optie om de steile-zijdige krater in te gaan.
Loop rond de kraters van Mangere Mountain. Meer informatie over de grote Maori-nederzetting op de vulkaan. Bekijk uitzicht op de haven van Manukau en nog een paar vulkanische kenmerken.
Geniet van het uitzicht op One Tree Hill terwijl je een samenvatting krijgt van de geschiedenis van Nieuw-Zeeland, gericht op de vroege interactie tussen de Britten en Maori. Rij dan rond in Cornwall Park, waar je nog meer vulkanische kraters en wat schapen ziet.
Loop rond de krater van Mt Eden. Geniet van het prachtige uitzicht op de stad en de omliggende vulkanen vanaf de top.

Great tour and fun day! We were picked up promptly at cruise port and Mike was friendly and knowledgeable — my husband (former geologist) said his answers were very good with enough detail to make geology understandable but was also able to answer extra science questions when asked. Kept a good pace and walking was active but not extreme. Beautiful views of city and bay from the short climbs to tops of volcano grassy craters! Liked going to different sites and hearing a little history about volcanos that surround Auckland and how Maori used the craters. Well worth the money!
Great day despite the largely awful weather! On me in the tour and glad Mike didn’t cancel it due to the weather, which he almost did, but would have meant that was it for me as I was off the next day. Very knowledgeable and chatted around our wider travels. Weather meant couldn’t see some of the views at the various volcanoes, but interesting to learn about them and Māori culture at the times.

After a wet start,the tour was great. Small group of people so easy to get the local knowledge. Interesting sites to visit.
