Een schilderachtige rit langs de Turnagain Arm van de Cook Inlet biedt u adembenemende uitzichten terwijl u onderweg bent naar een van de beste attracties in zuid-centraal Alaska: het Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center! We zullen je door dit natuurreservaat leiden en vertellen over de gewonde en verweesde wilde dieren die onder hun hoede zijn; je hebt ook wat vrije tijd om zelf rond te lopen. Deze reis duurt ongeveer een uur per enkele reis naar het natuurcentrum, met ongeveer 1,5-2 uur in het centrum zelf, wat neerkomt op een educatieve tour van 4 uur met een spectaculair landschap de hele weg!

We rijden langs de Turnagain Arm van de Cook Inlet langs de prachtige Seward Highway; we zullen een speciale fotostop maken.
We passeren Beluga Point aan de Cook Inlet, waar we uitkijken naar Beluga Whales en Dall Sheep (als het juiste seizoen is) en genieten van een spectaculair uitzicht op de oceaan en de bergen. Als de tijd het toelaat, maken we een stop.
We rijden over deze beroemde visserskreek en als het de juiste tijd van het seizoen is, zien we misschien vissers langs de oevers staan in de hoop zilveren zalm te vangen.
Als het weer het toelaat, kunnen we tijdens onze rit aan het einde van de Turnagain Arm enkele hangende valleigletsjers in de bergtoppen zien!
Onze belangrijkste attractie is het verbazingwekkende non-profit natuurreservaat dat een aantal gewonde en verweesde wilde dieren uit Alaska heeft gerehabiliteerd en een forever home biedt. We zullen ongeveer 1,5+ uur in het centrum doorbrengen. De helft wordt begeleid en de helft is vrije tijd om op eigen gelegenheid te verkennen.

Alex was our tour guide. She made this tour so special with her vast knowledge, enthusiasm and truly loving what she does. I learned so much as she was driving to our destination and back and of course at the Wildlife center. I purchased a piece of Musk Ox jewelry at a shop in Anchorage she had referenced, as I knew so little about this animal and the humane way the fur is collected. Alex had a great sense of humor when my husband was bet he wouldn’t put his foot in the cold water at one of our lovely stops, pic below. Thank you Alex for making this tour so memorable for our family.
opportunity to see moose, reindeer, brown and black bears, porcupine, wolf, bison, yak, close up in this nature conservatory. It was wonderful to see just how large the brown bears really are. Alex was very nice and very knowledgeable about all the animals
Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center Tour! David was absolutely amazing! From beginning to end, he made our tour such a wonderful and memorable experience. He was incredibly knowledgeable, personable, patient, and genuinely passionate about Alaska and everything he was showing us. What really stood out was how much David cared about making sure everyone had a great experience. He shared so many interesting stories and facts, answered all of our questions, and never made us feel rushed. It was a wonderful experience being able to visit this wild animal park. Our driver and tour guide Alex was fantastic! A great personality and an amazing knowledge of not only this park but Alaska in general. She made the 1 hr drive to and from this park so ennoyable and fun.

Great excursion . the ride to the animals was awesome. It really helped to have someone to guide us through the animal preservation site. It is very large and Alex navigated us very well through to see the animals up close . they seemed well taken care of and content . we enjoyed our tour with Alex. She was fun and full of information. I really appreciated that even though the group was only 2 of us that day they did not cancel our trip. We are very glad we took this trip and the drive is very famous and one of the best drives in North America. I think if we had tried to do this on our own we would have missed a lot. Be sure to come layered for all types of weather. As in Alaska it can change in a minute. the van was very comfortable. thank you Alex for a great morning .
We took the Wildlife Tour and our guide was David, the owner of Frontier Tours. He was very personable and knowledgeable. The Wildlife Center was very interesting. On the road back to Anchorage, we were stopped due to a fatal accident which meant no way to return to Anchorage for hours. He turned the fan around and headed us back the way we’d come and took us to several really cool places. He turned what could have been a long wait in a non-moving line into a fun adventure. If you are in Anchorage, this is the tour company you want to use,
