Ontdek de koloniale zone op de meest leuke en authentieke manier die meer terrein beslaat in minder tijd. Tijdens de tour delen we zowel historische als culturele inzichten die rijden door de mooiste verborgen hoekjes met veel instagrambare locaties. Het is het eerste wat je moet doen als je in de stad bent, zodat je alles uit je verblijf haalt. In twee uur rijden we door de zeezijde voor een panoramisch uitzicht over de stad terwijl we genieten van de Caribische zeebries, bezoeken we alle belangrijke parken en pleinen, evenals eeuwenoude ruïnes, kerken en allerlei kleine lokale bedrijven die het beste van onze cultuur. Aan het einde van de tour voel je je een local, wetende dat de beste plekken zijn om te gaan eten, drinken, dansen en winkelen. Kom met ons rijden en ervaar het beste van Santo Domingo.

De tour begint in onze winkel Zona Bici aan de Calle Arzobispo Meriño 217. We zijn slechts een blok verwijderd van Colombus Plaza en de kathedraal van de stad, dus dit is onze eerste stop. Hier delen we een deel van de geschiedenis van het park en definiëren we enkele van de drukte daar. Van daaruit rijden we naar Plaza Padre Billini waar we zijn geschiedenis delen en ook die van La Casa del Tostado en andere restaurants en drukte daar.
We blijven rijden en bereiken de ruïnes van het Dominicos-klooster en Parque Duarte, waarbij we opnieuw een deel van de monumentengeschiedenis en het culturele belang delen. Vanaf hier gaan we naar Regina's Alley en zien we de kerk van Regina's Agelorum. We gaan Calle Jose Reyes op en slaan Calle las Mercedes op. Daar zien we La Iglesia de las Mercedes, en wat we het nieuwe alternatieve centrum van de koloniale zone noemen. Vanaf daar rijden we de Calle Sanchez af, raken we El Malecón en delen we het verhaal van het Balandra Aurora-monument. Hier schitteren we langs de oude stadsmuur.
Eerst de zuidelijke muur, waar we Park San Jose, Montesinos Monument, La Casa Del Gorjón en Plaza Pellerano Castro bezoeken. Van daaruit bereiken we calle las Damas. De oudste straat in de stad, en hier delen we de meeste historische informatie. Tegen die tijd hebben we de oostelijke muur bereikt die langs de rivier de Ozama loopt. Langs de muur zien we belangrijke monumenten zoals Cristopher Columbus House, Hernan Cortes House, La Fortaleza Ozama onder andere. Aan het einde van de Calle Las Damas bereiken we Plaza España waar we Don Diego Colon's Alcazar, El Barrio de las Atarazanas en de ruïnes van de douanegebouwen zien. Van daaruit gaan we naar de Santa Barabara waar we de geschiedenis van de slavernij in de stad delen. Onze laatste stop is slechts een blok verwijderd van de winkel, waar we de ruïnes van San Francisco zien. daar delen we wat inzichten voordat we teruggaan naar de winkel.

It is a very pleasant and simple bike tour in terms of physical effort, yet comprehensive and detailed regarding the points of interest visited. In addition to the bike with a basket and a bottle of cold water, the bike tour includes: 1. information simply explained - whether historical, social, cultural, aesthetic, or political, without sounding scripted by AI or a guidebook 2. perspectives and opinions from the guide that invite participation and open discussion 3. suggestions from the guide - either general or tailored to the client The guide speaks very well and clearly; he is very courteous and professional, yet at the same time, it feels like you are accompanied by a family member or an old friend from long ago. The only thing I dislike is that there isn't a bike tour/price for solo tourists, but even so, the high quality of the tour is rewarding, and the guide gave me a little extra time.

An excellent place to explore the colonial area with interesting facts and stories associated with the tourist spots. The tour lasts about two hours, and the guide takes the time to share information about each place visited. The bicycles look a bit worn out, but it is an excellent way to explore the area.
Jordano gave us an excellent tour of Zona Colonial. He was born, raised and went to school in la Zona, and supplemented his own perspective with additional study, and it shows! He included well-known historical sites as well as places known to locals not included on the official map. He also include recommendations for shopping, music and food and sent us a map afterwards with our tour route and all the additional recommendations. We biked at a slow easy pace with frequent stops. Overall excellent tour! One tip is that the bikes are INCLUDED with the tour- no need to book an extra bike rental unless you want more time afterwards.
Wonderful way to see the old town and learn the history of the Dominican Republic! Our guide kept us all entertained with stories at each stop and pointed out locations we could come back to and spend more time later. My family of four had an excellent time - thank you!
