Onze Tour neemt ons mee naar de ruwe grindvlaktes van de Namib woestijn en we leren hoe planten en dieren zich hebben aangepast aan deze vijandige en barre omstandigheden. Hoe planten en dieren overleven van het vocht van de Mist, de vorming van het 400 miljoen jaar oude Maanlandschap en hoe de eeuwenoude Welwitschia Planten groeien. Welwitschia planten van maximaal 1500 jaar oud kunnen worden gezien Daarna gaan we zuidwaarts langs Dune 7 Walvisbay in naar het Ramsar wetland en lagune gebied om duizenden Flamingo's en andere steltlopers te bekijken, langs de roze zoutmeren langs de kust naar de prachtige en verbluffende Sandwich Harbor duinen. Waar zee en duinen elkaar ontmoeten. UNIEK, Prachtig, absoluut prachtig, een adrenaline achtbaan duin rijden, een korte game drive op zoek naar woestijnleven, geweldig Dit is een lange dag en de lunch wordt geserveerd. Deze volledige dagtour neemt je mee van Swakopmund naar de grindvlaktes van de Namibwoestijn, waar kleine korstmossenvelden liggen en verder naar het 400 miljoen jaar oude maanlandschap.... je voelt je alsof je op de maan bent.... dan door naar het uitzicht op de 1000 jaar oude Welwitschia Mirabilis-plant die in dit gebied groeit. Deze plant heeft slechts 2 bladeren en de bladeren groeien uit de stengel, geteisterd door wind scheuren de bladeren... iets echt unieks
we stoppen bij deze wateroase die van groot belang is voor Swakopmund en zien hoe de geschiedenis zich ontwikkelde
we bekijken het uitgestrekte en 500 miljoen jaar oude unieke maanlandschap. Je voelt je alsof je op een andere planeet bent. Dit heeft 2 ijstijden en veel vulkaanuitbarstingen en lavastromen doorstaan
De 1500 jaar oude Welwitschia planten groeien alleen op de Welwitschia vlakten. we bekijken deze unieke en prachtige plant en leren hoe hij overleeft in deze barre omstandigheden
De tocht keert terug naar Walvisbaai voorbij Duin 7, waar de Flamingo's en 500.000 andere steltlopers zich in de Walvisbaai Lagune bevinden. we rijden langs de roze zoutmeren het strand op en dalen af naar de torenhoge duinen van de Walvisbaai. Mogelijk zien we zeehonden en jakhalzen tussen de vele zeehonden.
De Sandwichhaven is waar duin en zee samenkomen, we hebben een smalle strook strand om over te reizen. Getijdenafhankelijk en erg mooi. We rijden naar de torenhoge duinen voor het beste duinzicht ooit. Het is prachtig, het is prachtig. De Sandwichhaven. Het is een achtbaan-duinrit met geweldige kleurcontrasten, absoluut UNIEK. We gaan op een kleine gamedrive, op zoek naar het leven dat de barre woestijn te bieden heeft, en helaas moeten we terug naar huis. De toegang tot de haven van Sandwich is afhankelijk van het getij en de gids van de dag zal beslissen welke kant de tour op wordt gereden, misschien eerst Sandwich en dan Welwitschia.

Ophaallocaties en -tijden
We halen op bij elke accommodatie in Swakopmund of in Walvisbay, Long beach en Swakopmund. Dit is een ideale Cruise liner Tour.We pikken op in Walvis Bay Harbour een uur na de Ship Docks. Kijk uit voor onze Gazebo en naamborden Gelieve nota te nemen van alle cruise liner passagiers. We staan in de haven na de eerste poort met een Gazebo waar ons logo op staat. Let op: uw Gids zal ook staan met een naambord. Let op alle Cruise Liner passagiers, uw tour pick-up tijd begint een uur nadat u bent afgemeerd. De tour vertrekt uiterlijk anderhalf uur na de ophaaltijd. Laatkomers worden beschouwd als een no show

- Let op Duitse gidsen zijn beperkt en we hebben niet de capaciteit om iedereen een Duitse Gids te geven, Deze worden toegewezen op basis van wie het eerst komt, het eerst maalt.

Wonder trip out to Sandwiche Habour and then to the moon/lunar landscape, seeing wild life and flora on route. Stephan did a great job pointing out the wind life and flora. Whilst also vehicle surfing the sand dunes. Plus went out of his way to show more of the lunar landscape in the afternoon. Highly recommend going for those wanting to appreciate what Swakopmund region has to offer in a short space of time.

We paid $438 for 2 persons for this all day tour. They met us at the cruise port right at the end of the pier and all seemed very professional and friendly. We loaded up into three different 4x4 SUV trucks (3-4 people per vehicle), stopped for a restroom break and to pick up lunch before heading to Welwischia, which was a drive down the highway and then through flat desert plains before arriving at the canyon moonish landscape to look at some views and plants. This first part of the tour was about 3.5 hours and while somewhat interesting, definitely paled in comparison to the second half of the tour (a full 4.5 hours+)....which was to drive through a quick view of Swakopmund (no stops) and then off to the colorful pink lake and on to the magnificent Sandwich Harbour for lunch and dunes and amazing deserted beaches and ocean. Lunch was simple fare (fried meet, cheese, brownies, etc) set out on tables between the vehicles, and we all stood around and grabbed pieces along with apple juice or soda or beer (under the watchful eye of some nearby jackals and seals). The driving and views from the dunes were incredible and you really had to admire the skill and knowledge of all the drivers (no marked roads, no indications of "safe" dunes to drive on and over). Our guide and driver was excellent - friendly, informative, and answered all our questions. Overall, this was a very unique, professional, and enjoyable day where we got to see everything of significance in the region. While I originally thought the price was high for an 8-hour tour.....I came to find that almost all tours are expensive in Namibia, this is a very small and private experience, and these guys offer a very competitive price against others. No one coming to this area should miss Sandwich Harbour and I really think these guys are the best at showing it to you.

A great day tour with the great guide/driver who explained everything well in English. He also took us to areas that are not usually visited so often. You could feel his enthusiasm for his work and his fun driving through the desert. The desire to come back was awakened in us. Note: At the port exit, do not pay attention to a name tag, but go to the information stands and ask. Conclusion: highly recommended, hassle-free handling with fast communication!

Great day in Namibia! There was only one other couple on the trip and we had Len, a super-nice guide who explained the flora and fauna to us in a vivid and detailed way. He was also absolutely safe and drove with the necessary caution in the dunes, which are challenging to drive in. No unnecessary and dangerous stunts. You could tell at all times that he cared deeply about nature. Very good picnic lunch in the dunes away from the tourist caravans. The same was true in the Namib Desert, where we were mostly on our own. We were never pressed for time and had plenty of opportunity to experience nature and stop for photos. The organization was perfect, pleasantly unhurried. So if you come to Walvis Bay and you are looking for a really nice guide, "Ask 4 Len" ;-) And: greetings to Uwe! "Ask 4 Uwe" as well...
