Walvisbay : Sandwich Harbour SUNSET Tour-End It Beautifully Ervaar een adembenemend natuurfenomeen dat een verscheidenheid aan emoties oproept, terwijl u van en naar Sandwich Harbour rijdt. De schoonheid van de natuur bij ons waarderen. Terwijl we de reis van dag naar nacht beginnen, hebben we de mogelijkheid om de prachtige flamingo's te observeren bij Walvis Bay Lagoon tegenover het Flamingo Villa Hotel, evenals The Pink Lake bij de Salt Pans terwijl we naar Sandwich Harbour rijden. We zullen genieten van een spannende 4x4 rit over de duinen en langs de kust naar Sandwich Harbour, waar we een verscheidenheid aan vogels en dieren kunnen tegenkomen, zoals springbok, gemsbok, oryx, jakhalzen, struisvogels en zelfs de ongrijpbare Namib Desert Gecko. Tijdens de tour wordt u getrakteerd op lichte snacks, drankjes en een glas champagne. Daarna gaan we terug naar Walvisbaai." De bezoekers komen samen met de gids op de parkeerplaats tegenover het Flamingo Villa Boutique Hotel in de lagune. Daar krijgen ze de kans om de flamingo’s te observeren en informatieve inzichten over hen te krijgen van de gids.
Na het bezoek aan Pink Lake vervoert de gids de gasten naar Sandwich Harbour. Deze plezierige en spannende reis langs de duinen en kustlijn leidt naar het punt waar de duinen samenkomen met de Atlantische Oceaan. Tijdens de reis naar Sandwich Harbour kunnen ze een divers scala aan vogel- en diersoorten tegenkomen. Versnaperingen, waaronder snacks en drankjes, worden halverwege de tour verstrekt.
De Walvis Bay Salt Holding ligt aan het zuidelijke uiteinde van Walvis Bay Lagoon. Daar kunnen de gasten het Roze Meer bekijken.

If you are anywhere near Walvis Bay, this tour is a must-do and doing it at sunset elevates it to a whole new level. Driving across the dunes and experiencing this out of this world landscape is worth every penny. If you want the best possible experience in the dunes, book this tour and ask for Axton. Christian was an outstanding guide who was very knowledgeable about the desert and made a heartfelt effort to show us every detail and the typical animals. He definitely knew the best viewpoints, and we were alone at each one. He is an excellent dune driver with a lot of experience, unlike many others who try to power up the dunes with a lot of gas. Overall, a highly recommended trip that is truly worth the money. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent catering.
What a brilliant afternoon tour with Christian. I highly recommend the sunset tour for two reasons: you avoid the armada of cars if there is a cruise ship around - there were a total of five cars in the afternoon compared to > 30 in the morning - and you get much better light with the interplay of shades and warm sunlight. Disadvantages: time will not be enough to go down to Sandwich harbour, you will stay on top of the dunes. And of course you will have a lot of traces of the morning tours in the sand, but hey, this is a playground, don’t expect it to be virgin. To go down you need a full-day tour. We were picked up at 14.45 at Swakopmund and were back at 20.30 - so you really get something for your money. I orderer mainly vegetarian food and was surprised by the quality of the snacks and the sparkling wine offered. This was far beyond the usual snack stuff, all vegetarian, all good. We skipped dinner completely. All in all a great afternoon and we got a private tour for the price of a standard tour. Don‘t let other operators tell you that afternoon is not a good time for Sandwich Harbour: they don‘t want to do it because guides will finish their days very late. Otherwise its a brilliant decision.

This was one of the best experiences of our entire trip! From start to finish it was incredibly well curated. Christian was so knowledgeable about of the area and navigated us safely on an adventures ride through the most beautiful dunes, along the beaches and through greenery hiding the wildlife. The sunset over the dunes and ocean was a sight we will remember forever. If you have any time at all book this tour and you won’t regret it!
