Je 4-uur durende San Salvador Adventure Day Sail is je kans om een stap terug in de tijd te maken terwijl je aan boord van dit 16e-eeuwse Spaanse galjoen stapt. De San Salvador is een replica van het schip van Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo dat op 28 september 1542 aankwam in de haven die we nu San Diego noemen. Deze zeilavonturen van 4 uur zijn voor mensen die van geschiedenis en zeilen houden. Zeer weinig mensen hebben aan boord van galjoenen van de 16e eeuw gevaren en nu kan dat!

Our family was on vacation in SD towards the end of May 2026.while planning our visit, we came across the museum’s website and decided to visit. We also discovered that they offered sailings on two of their ships and we wanted to try and do it. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user (I can walk, just not very far or very long). I spoke with Jim on the phone and he assured me they could make it work. And they did! The captain David and his crew were so gracious and knowledgeable about the ship and took great care of the passengers on board. There were museum docents on board who could share their knowledge about Juan Cabrillo and the history of the area. It was such an incredible experience. I highly recommend it! My only disappointment (not a negative on the museum, this is on us) is that we ran out of time to fully explore the museum so we’re already planning another trip back.
The crew was fantastic. The sailing was a unique adventure for me. I can’t wait to bring my grandson.

Great experience, but not enough places to sit for a four-hour cruise. The crew was fantastic, the weather beautiful, the stories interesting!
