Mijn tour neemt je mee naar een iconische eerste stop, gebouwd in 1888, het fantastische Hotel Del Coronado, simpelweg bekend als de Del, is een ongelooflijk hotel aan de oceaan. Vervolgens bezoeken we het prachtige Balboa Park met zijn prachtige Spaanse architectuur gebouwd om de opening van het Panamakanaal te vieren en veel kleine huizen van over de hele wereld. Nu rijden we naar het zuiden om de prachtige kustlijn van La Jolla te bezoeken met zijn ruige stranden en zeehonden die zich in de zon koesteren. Tijd om naar het zuiden te gaan en even te stoppen om de kliffen en surfers bij Sunset Cliffs te zien voordat je het Cabrillo National Monument bereikt met het beste uitzicht over San Diego. Onze laatste stop is in de oude binnenstad en je hebt genoeg tijd om het heerlijke Mexicaanse eten te proberen en een Margarita te drinken voordat je terugkeert naar je hotel of de luchthaven. Als je minder tijd op de ene plek en meer op een andere plek wilt doorbrengen, is dat prima. Ik kan niet wachten om je de mooiste stad van Amerika te laten zien, je zult er dol op zijn!!!

Rijd langs de Orange Avenue en ga het beroemde Hotel Del Coronado binnen.
Zie botanische tuinen en prachtige Spaanse architectuur.
Zie zeeleeuwen zonnebaden in het prachtige La Jolla.
Zie de prachtige kliffen en surfers bij prachtige zonsondergangkliffen terwijl we voorbij rijden.
We rijden langs Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery op weg naar Cabrillo National Monument. Een spectaculair uitzicht op de Stille Oceaan en een prachtig uitzicht op de Baai van San Diego. Je kunt het hele centrum en Coronado Island zien. Ze hebben een bezoekerscentrum, een mooi wandelpad langs de kleine vuurtoren die je kunt beklimmen en een fantastisch uitzicht rondom.
Stop even bij Old Town Historic Park om rond te kijken, het is de geboorteplaats van Californië en waar het allemaal begon. Je ziet ze handgemaakte tortilla's maken buiten Cafe Coyote op San Diego Avenue. Geweldige plek als je heerlijk Mexicaans eten en een Margarita wilt hebben.

Darren was an outstanding tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable and could talk in great detail about the history of the many sites on the San Diego tour. His engaging style made the tour come alive. He was also very kind and caring and offered us water and snacks throughout the duration of the tour. He was a great conversationalist, and we felt like we had known him for many years. We recommend this tour without reservation and would be glad to have Darren as our tour guide again someday.

We got a great over view of the city. Comfortable and clean car. Our guide knew good spots to stop and shop. Learned San Diego history plus the current trends of the areas. So much better than trying to drive myself. He knew the traffic patterns and easier ways to go. Plus pickup /drop off was at my hotel!

We booked our tour for the full day. We are 2 women with limited mobility and Darren could not have been more accommodating. Brand new car with snacks and water. Pick up was spot on time and Darren was engaging, interesting and full of information. We felt as if he was a relative giving us a tour. Darren’s itinerary missed nothing. We asked to stop for lunch and he took us to a great pub for fish and chips. Don’t hesitate to book Darren. He is open to any suggestions. Next time we want to do his wine tour! Thanks, Darren.
