Als je de Riverwalk en de Alamo hebt gezien... is dit echt iets anders. Het King William District begon in de jaren 1860 toen de eerste kavels werden verkocht. Deze locatie ligt op enkele minuten van het hart van San Antonio. Gelegen naast de meanderende rivier, zult u geboeid zijn door de grandeur van deze woningen. Hoor de verhalen achter 40 historische huizen waar veel van de meest prominente burgers van de stad woonden. Zie de prachtige residentie gebouwd door de man die de eerste frisdrank creëerde, het toevluchtsoord van de excentrieke socialite die werd begraven in haar Ferrari, en het huis waar de uitvinder van de maïschip verbleef. Ook is er het huis dat de eerste elektrische verlichting in de stad had, het huis van een beroemde tenor die zong in het Witte Huis en een andere waar een schrijfster haar carrière begon. Wat hebben Elvis Presley, Lily Munster, Davy Crockett en Frank Sinatra met koning William te maken? Hoor deze verhalen en nog veel meer tijdens uw begeleide wandeltocht. We maken een ontspannen wandeling door de lommerrijke straten van het historische King William, en tijdens deze wandeltocht hoort u de geschiedenis en de verhalen van deze grote residenties. Ontdek hun unieke architectuur, degenen die ze hebben ontworpen en gebouwd, en de families die in deze prachtige huizen hebben gewoond. Veel van hen hebben fascinerende verhalen, en ze hebben niet alleen gediend als plekken om gezinnen op te voeden, maar er zijn ook veel verborgen en lang vergeten verhalen achter deze imposante deuren. We had a nice size group of 10 people. The walking tour started on time and lasted about 3 hours. Stewart is a wealth of interesting knowledge about the different homes and the people who owned them. He showed us extra photo information to enhance the experience. I highly recommend the adventure!
