Er is zoveel geschiedenis en schoonheid te ontdekken in Samarkand, dus het is een fantastisch idee om een reis te plannen. Je gids neemt je tijdens deze privéreis mee naar een aantal locaties, waaronder moskeeën, madrasa's en mausoleums. Amir Timur en zijn geliefde kleinkinderen Muhammad Sultan, Ulugbek en andere familieleden zijn hier begraven. En ik zal de kenmerken van de briljante architectuur van het Timuriden tijdperk delen. U zult zich de tijden voorstellen dat deze gebouwen dienden als religieuze scholen en wetenschappelijke centra, de percelen van de gevels "lezen" en gewoon genieten van de schoonheid van het complex. We zullen van buitenaf zien!
Hier gaan we het weer hebben over Amir Tamer. Hij droomde ervan om de beste moskee ter wereld te bouwen - binnen leer je hier meer over en ontdek je oude legendes. We zullen van buitenaf zien!
De Hazrat Khizr-moskee werd in de 19e eeuw gereconstrueerd, ter vervanging van de moskee die in de 13e eeuw werd verwoest. De oorspronkelijke moskee op deze plaats dateert uit de 8e eeuw en deze moskee werd gebouwd op de plaats van een zoroastrische tempel. We zullen van binnenuit zien!
Het herdenkingscomplex Shakhi-Zinda is een van de mysterieuze architectonische monumenten van Samarkand. Er wordt aangenomen dat hier het graf van Kusam ibn Abbas, een medewerker van de profeet Mohammed zelf, zich bevindt. We zullen van buitenaf zien!

Samarkand is a great city. This tour gives me a very good understanding about the city and its history. The length and the depth of the tour is appropriate for anybody. It is 4 hours tour and covering key historical sites in the city. If you decide to dive deeper, you can do so individually. Our tour guide, Samandar (Sam), even gave us overview of additional places to visit in Samarkand. I highly recommend this tour company for their professionalism. Special thanks to Sam for his knowledge sharing and kindness.

Very nice and extensive explanations about the history, culture and facts of the city. Sitora did a wonderful job as a guide. She had a folder with pictures to clarify stuff, and was open for any questions.

Pro: Our guide was a very enthusiastic student who loved history and very happy to share his knowledge in excellent English. Great insight we never would have had otherwise. Misunderstanding: We got to Registan Square and admired from outside. Guide said going in was not included, which he probably meant the entrance fee, which we realized not included, but we thought he meant there wasn't time on the program to go in. Tour was listed as 0900-1400. At noon we got to the last place and he declared tour was over. Didn't ask if we wanted to (pay) to go into Registan, which we would have, had we been asked. Con: Guide said disparaging things about the ethnic group I belong to, although he didn't know that. Made us feel uncomfortable.
