De zoutmijn is niet alleen beroemd in Polen, maar ook in de wereld, dankzij de prachtige zoutmijn, die jaarlijks door meer dan 1 miljoen toeristen wordt bezocht. Sinds de dertiende eeuw staat de stad bekend als het mijncentrum van deze bron, en de mijn werd gesticht dankzij Saint. Kinga. De mijn is een labyrint van ondergrondse trottoirs met een lengte van 300 km. Het is een waardevol monument van materiële cultuur en technisch denken. Een bezoek aan de mijn duurt ongeveer 2-3 uur en vindt plaats op verschillende alternatieve routes. De reistijd van Krakau naar Wieliczka is ongeveer 30 minuten. Dit is een tour met een privétransfer vanuit Krakau. Sightseeing vindt plaats in groepen met andere deelnemers.

Ophalen van reizigers wordt aangeboden. We halen toeristen op van elke vooraf bepaalde plaats in Krakau. Als u uw hotel niet op de lijst hebt gevonden, hoeft u zich geen zorgen te maken. Schrijf ons de naam en het adres van het hotel en wij halen u daar op. We sturen u de exacte ophaaltijd de dag vóór de tour vóór 18.00 uur.

Interesting place however if you are deaf it’s a frustrating visit. The headsets need to be different and like the ones at Auschwitz where you have a head piece covering both ears. Having just one piece you insert into the ear doesn’t work. Also the sound was poor not just for me but also my friend who isn’t deaf. Although our guide was lovely her accent was hard to understand at times and she spoke too fast. There was one other person who was also deaf having the same problem as myself.
Simon, our tour guide made the tour interesting and fun. He engaged with various individuals in the group and was humorous and approachable. The mines are beautiful; I would recommend this tour to everyone. Lots of walking.

Great service out to the Salt Mine. Tickets provided and we entered pretty well on our booked slot. Our driver was friendly and efficient and was able to give us good advice about taking one our group to hospital as she’d fallen on stairs towards the end of the tour and badly hurt her shoulder/arm. The Salt mine staff started off helpful but backed off being helpful and blamed our friend - even suggesting she’d had a sore shoulder before the tour started. Our driver Cornel advised us well so we went to hospital with the correct paperwork etc. Our friend had broken her upper arm in the fall so take care on the stairs in the mine.

Bart was our tour guide he was excellent- fun and knowledgeable. Communication was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the salt mine tour. It is amazing! You definitely need to be quite fit. The only comment I would make is there should be something on the ticket when you book to advise the tour guide will provide your actual ticket on the day. This would avoid confusion.
