Ontdek de bezienswaardigheden van Salalah en de natuurlijke wonderen van het platteland in één reis tijdens uw stop met een cruise of wanneer u beperkte tijd heeft. Begin met een bezoek aan de bezienswaardigheden van Salalah, de Grote Moskee en het Paleis al-Husn. U zult ook de traditionele al-Haffa-markt verkennen - de beste plek om wierook, parfums en sjaals te kopen. Geniet vervolgens van een kokosnootdrankje in de plantages van Salalah en inspecteer de irrigatiesystemen. Verlaat de stad om de Jarzeez-bron te ontdekken, omringd door rotsformaties en grotten. Rijd vervolgens naar de Ittine-hoogten voor een panoramisch uitzicht op Salalah en de Jarzeez-vallei. Na de afdaling van de bergen bereikt u het spectaculaire Mughsail-strand. Aan het ene uiteinde ligt een serene lagune die wordt bezocht door flamingo's. Aan de andere kant doemen de kliffen van het Qamar-gebergte op aan de horizon. Onder de imposante Marneef-grot krijgt u de gelegenheid om u te verwonderen over waterfonteinen die uit de blaasgaten in de kliffen stromen.

Bezoek aan het interieur van de grote moskee van Salalah. Uitstekend voorbeeld van Omani architectuur en design - bewerkte deuren, kroonluchters, tapijten, kalligrafie in gips.
Stop bij de hoofdingang van het paleis en maak foto's van de klokkentoren en de omliggende tuinen
Adem de geur van de beste wierook en andere geuren en parfums in. Winkelen voor de traditionele items zoals wierookbranders, mandenmakerij, Omani nationale kleding en andere souvenirs.
Een korte wandeling in de uitgestrekte plantages waar u het irrigatiesysteem kunt verkennen dat kokospalmen, bananen, papaja's en vele andere groenten en fruit water geeft. U kunt ook genieten van het drinken van kokoswater en het proeven van verschillende soorten fruit in de lokale kraampjes.
Ontdek de natuurlijke plaats van de lente omringd door kalkstenen rotsformaties en grotten. U kunt het bronwater het hele jaar door in de irrigatiekanalen zien stromen.
Maak een korte wandeling over het fascinerende zandstrand van Mughsail. Het strand heeft een prachtige lagune aan het oostelijke uiteinde waar u reigers en flamingo's kunt spotten.
Verken de fascinerende Marneef-rotsformatie die is gecreëerd door millennia van erosieprocessen. Onder de rots van Marneef lagen de vermaarde blaasgaten waar bij hoogwater het zeewater uit de groeven in de kliffen stroomt.

The tour itinerary itself was fine and covered the main attractions well (although East Salalah seems more picturesque). However I was a little disappointed by my guide (Karel), although he was entirely polite to me and full of factual and numerical information about the area he made a few comments about the local Omani population that I found distasteful and spent quite a lot of time on his phone. Examples of the comments include "They go to school but don't learn much", "Its unsettling for Europeans to see how the women dress here, they are covered and look like they are dressed for a funeral" & "The Omanis don't have much entrepreneurial spirit, they aren't good entrepreneurs", even if you think those things are true I'm not sure why anyone would say them out loud. I came away without a local feel for the area and culture and with the impression that he wasn't really passionate about Oman and was there just to make money. Shame.

With some time lag I can not imagine I could visit Salalah and did not manage this trip. This trip gave us great opportunity to recognise beauty of Oman, its differences and specifics. The trip was very well prepared and our guide had very good knowledge of Omans culture but also nature. We could place any question and we got the answer. I can recommend it. We were very surprised that we were on all sightseeing points totally alone. We have really enjoyed it.

We spent a week in Salalah in February 2020 and were looking for a private tour company. When we came across Takamul Tours, contact was very easy via WhatsApp with extremely friendly manager Karl. We decided on 4 tours and were accompanied by Karl himself, who did an excellent job! He could answer all our questions and was always looking after our well-being.
