Gelegen in de wijk Haffa in de buurt van Al Haffa Beach en het Sultan's Palace, is het bekend om zijn wierookhandel en traditionele Omaanse producten Wat te vinden op de souq Wierook : De markt is beroemd om de verkoop van hoogwaardige wierook (of luban), die centraal staat in de Omaanse cultuur. Variëteiten omvatten wierookhars, oliën, parfums en crèmes. De hoogste kwaliteit is de groenachtige "Royal Hojari". Omaanse ambachten en souvenirs : Shoppers kunnen een breed scala aan artikelen bekijken, waaronder sieraden, keramiek, houten ambachten en textiel. Traditionele Omaanse kleding : De souq biedt traditionele kleding zoals de kumma (geborduurde petten voor mannen), masar (tulbanden) en kleurrijke kaftans. Andere geuren : Naast wierook kun je ook andere wierook (bakhur), parfums en lokaal gemengde geuren vinden. Specerijen : Op de markt staan ook kraampjes met lokale kruiden
De Sultan Qaboos Moskee in Salalah is een belangrijke bezienswaardigheid in het centrum van de stad, bekend om zijn elegante design en moderne islamitische architectuur. Het is een van de grootste moskeeën in de regio Dhofar van Oman en een belangrijke attractie voor zowel aanbidders als toeristen.

We booked all our tours through getyourguide and were completely satisfied. Communication was very friendly and helpful. Agreed times were always observed. Our German speaking guide was mega. Offered in addition to other excursions it turned out to be a wise choice. Unlike other operators , the interval fits perfectly between the end of sun-bathing and the start of dinner. Accompanied by Ahmed,a connoisseur of culture and history we visited the Al Dahareez Beach,where could admire a beautiful sunset. Then continued at Sultan Qaboos Mosque and Palace, listening to competent information about these. Then we continued the tour at Haffa Souk,occasion to negotiate and buy souvenirs and frankincense based products. After a short refreshing stop at the fruit market we continued our visit in the Grand Mall,where could buy many products(like dates) at cheaper prices than in the hotel's or Marina shops. We finished our tour returning to the hotel,in due time for dinner. I can say that in these 4 hours I heard from Ahmed more information about the country,the region,the people and the culture of Oman than on all my previous excursions together. And last but not least this tour was more a private tour at a group tour price.
