Zoals aanbevolen door The Daily Telegraph; Neem een magische reis naar de Lycische beschaving van eeuwen geleden in Tlos die bekend is met de mythologische figuur van het vliegende paard Pegasus. We lunchen in een restaurant dat tussen de bomen en stromend koud water is gevestigd. Later bezoekt u Saklikent met de grootste kloof in deze regio, waar u indien u dat wilt in het ijskoude bergwater kunt springen. De wandeling door de kloof is ten zeerste aanbevolen, of u kunt ontspannen en wachten op de speciale houten pedastals ondergedompeld in de wateren van de verborgen kloof. Een vredig en ontspannend dagje uit.

We halen u 's ochtends tussen 08:15 en 09:00 uur met de bus op bij uw hotel en onze tour begint.
Het uitzicht op de Saklıkent Canyon, de eerste stop van onze tour, zal je fascineren. Woorden zijn niet genoeg om dit buitengewone natuurverschijnsel te beschrijven; Saklıkent weet zelfs degenen die deze plek eerder hebben bezocht te verbazen. De 13 kilometer lange Saklıkent-kloof, die duizenden jaren lang werd gevormd door smeltende sneeuw op de toppen van Akdağ en hevige regenval, is eigenlijk een relatief jonge geologische formatie. Je kunt zo ver gaan als je durft in de kloof, of achterover leunen op de platforms langs de rivier en naar het uitzicht kijken. Draag verstandige/comfortabele wandelschoenen. Neem uw badkleding en handdoeken mee. Waterdichte jas (aanbevolen in laagseizoen)
Na het Saklıkent Canyon-gedeelte van onze tour, na een korte autorit, gaan we naar Yaka Village (Yakapark) om te lunchen in het restaurant van de forelkwekerij. Het geluid van ijskoud water dat onder boomwortels en stenen stroomt en de koele sfeer van deze plek zullen je wegvoeren van alle stress en problemen van het moderne leven. Na onze lunchpauze vertrokken we met onze voertuigen richting Tlos.
Het is niet moeilijk om bij elke stap iets buitengewoons tegen te komen in de oude regio Lycië, die de rijkste historische, archeologische en natuurlijke hulpbronnen van Zuidwest-Turkije heeft. Aan de zuidelijke uitlopers van Akdağ (ook bekend als Masisitus) ligt Tlos, een van de best bewaarde oude nederzettingen tot nu toe. Woorden zijn niet genoeg om de ruïnes van Tlos te beschrijven, die moeder natuur met mededogen omarmt. Je hoort Pegasus en Chimera vechten op de kasteelheuvel (Akropolis), leert hoe de oude Romeinen werden genezen in het Romeinse badziekenhuis, voelt de sfeer van de Olympische Spelen en gladiatorenspelen in het stadion, krijgt toegang tot de geheimen van de Griekse toneelkunst in het theater, en zie mensen tussen de vele verschillende graven op de oude begraafplaats (Necropolis). Je zult de gedachten begrijpen achter het verlangen om de oneindigheid te bereiken.
Aan het einde van onze tour komen we rond 17:00-18:00 uur aan bij ons hotel.

Mehmit tour guide was absolutly splended funny and full of great historical information. He even walked barefoot down the mountain as a ladies flip flop broke and he gave her his trainers! Our driver was also great! Please do go and visit here try book with this tour guide! The Saklikent Gorge was amazing def do this and if you are careful it ia pretty safe to take your fone but be aware you could slip in the water, wish I took mine. Next time a water saftey bag might be in my to pack list. The ladies making our pancake bread were friendly and hardworking! Lush day! Please tip where possible they all make such a nice day out for you.

The description did not share the needing of a swimsuit. Also the details for the day were reversed making 1 activity almost cancelled. Overall disappointment

We are also truly sorry for the change in the itinerary. The 9-day holiday in Turkey caused extreme crowding at the sites, forcing our guide to rearrange the schedule so you could still experience the activities. The only reason this didn’t get a 5 was lunch - fish was so overcooked only half of it came off the bone. Anyway - the trip was brilliant. Jesus the guide was very knowledgeable and funny. The trip was in a different order to the itinerary and was better for it. It meant we visited Tlos first (amazing) and then Saklikent in the afternoon - much better for those of us doing the rafting (only 500tl to get a large raft ring and paddle/spin down the river). Bring a towel and a change - there are changing rooms and stuff can be left on the bus. Also bring water shoes for the gorge walking - they can be bought there. Don’t wear sliders or crocs - they come off to easily and we saw several floating away! You can also do zip line for 500tl. All in all a highly recommended day out.

This was a good tour. Guide was excellent. Watch out for tic bites at Tlos as you are walking through long grass. I had to go to the hospital to get antibiotics to prevent Lyme disease.

First thing to say is do not book this tour through this page! Everyone else who booked direct paid €22 and Viator are charging more than double that which is unacceptable. The entrance fees are not included so I’m unsure what the added surplus is for, other than greed. The guide was lovely, so this review is purely on the logistics. Bus was way too hot on way back, no aircon, lunch was fine (nothing special!) but female toilets there unusable due to faeces all over the floor. Drinks not included, no activities included. It was a chilled and lovely day but I’ve walked away knowing we were totally ripped off. Don’t book this tour but definitely go to the places on it. Thank you to our guide.

Take surf shoes for walking down river into gorge (you can buy plastic ones there). The gorge is amazing 👏 You can walk most of it dry bed this time of year but first bit is a bit tricky walking down over the rocks into the river. Plenty of other things going on for extra, zipwire is a buzz or inflatable down river is great, but the walking is awesome 👌

Interesting visit to the ancient city but the highlight of the day was the walk along the gorge. Definitely needed wet shoes (which we had) and our tour guide insisted on us wearing hard hats too because of loose rocks. Loved walking through the water and scrambling up the rapids. We were left to walk at our own pace and the further upstream we got the less people there were. A unique experience that was worth the time travelling on the hot coach.

Very efficient tour with so much variety. At the gorge, we paid to go ‘rafting’ (it’s more ‘tubing with a paddle’ and it’s on the river after it leaves the gorge) which was great fun! Recommend it! The gorge is amazing. Take water shoes or walking sandals if you have them. Lunch was in a hillside local restaurant where they farm trout. Choose trout from the menu if you like fish at all. Lovely lunch no matter what you order. Tlos ruins are not spectacular compared to some but the history there is amazing. Not too hot in October either. Good value for money trip. Just remember to take cash for entrance fees (for rafting you can use a card/phone). Shout out to our guide Emre for incessant happiness! 😁
