La Sainte Chapelle is de meest opmerkelijke gotische parel in de hoofdstad die je eigenlijk niet mag missen. Ons bezoek begint met de geboorte van Parijs, zijn eerste bewoners en enkele belangrijke gebeurtenissen die van dit eiland het hart van de stad hebben gemaakt. Hierna gaan we richting een van de mooiste voorbeelden van Franse gotische architectuur, La Sainte Chapelle genaamd, gebouwd om de relikwieën van Jezus in de 13e eeuw te huisvesten. U zult versteld staan van de schoonheid van de muren bedekt met glas-in-loodramen. We zullen leren over het leven van koning Lodewijk IX die een heilige werd en die deelnam aan de laatste twee kruistochten, het leven in de middeleeuwen, het belang van relikwieën in de middeleeuwen en een paar knapperige anekdotes. Het geleide bezoek duurt ongeveer 45 minuten

* It was expensive but worthy since it had a small group and the guide was good. She gave us a lot of interesting information. Later I found out that most of the informations are in the small panel with each site but it’s more fun and much more learning with someone. She has a teacher’s spirit so you've got to be a good student.
