De Sagrada Familia is een kerk als geen ander. Buiten laat uw Gids u de sierlijke sculpturen zien die in de vier gevels van de basiliek zijn gekerfd en legt hij hun betekenis uit. Stap binnen en je wordt vervoerd in een stenen bos met torenhoge kolommen als bomen, een gewelfd plafond als de lucht en verschillende tinten licht die door de glas-in-loodramen filteren. Uw Gids zal de innovatieve technieken delen die Gaudí gebruikte om zijn visie tot leven te brengen en waarom ze meer dan 100 jaar geleden zo revolutionair waren — en vandaag de dag nog steeds zo ongebruikelijk zijn. Tijdens uw tour zal uw Gids verhalen en de details delen die u niet mag missen. Daarna raden we een bezoek aan het museum onder de basiliek aan om de originele schaalmodellen en schetsen van de basiliek te bekijken. Uw Gids zal u vertellen waar u op moet letten.

De gevel van de kerststal De plek waar de oorsprong van zowel de basiliek als de Heilige Familie te vinden is. Hier verken je het begin van dit monumentale project. Kenmerken van gebrandschilderd glas In het centrale deel van de basiliek overspoelen de glas-in-loodramen het gebouw in een regenboog van licht. Het centrale gangpad Gaudí’s legendarische ‘steenbos’ draagt de koepel boven in ‘s werelds grootste binnenkerkgebouw. De Passiegevel Doorspekt met symboliek en codes om te ontrafelen, is dit de westkant van de kerk waar het verhaal van de dood van Christus wordt verkend. De school Dit oude schoolgebouw werd bezocht door generaties arbeiders die hun leven aan deze architecturale schat hebben gewijd. Het museum Een ondergronds pad leidt naar het museum waar je een kijkje krijgt in het kantoor van Gaudí en inzicht krijgt in hoe hij werd geïnspireerd om de Sagrada Família te ontwerpen.

Maria was a wonderful tour guide! Knowledgeable and witty, we would definitely recommend this tour. Duration of the tour was also perfect and her pace was spot on.

The Sagrada Familia was amazing. Very busy. Our guide was very hard to understand, talked to fast and the headsets didn't help. Skipping the line was the best part of what we paid for. Wish we could have heard and understood better.

This tour was disappointing. We had been to Sagrada Família in 2007. Upon returning with our family, the tour was simple. We were dismissed by our tour guide at the exit gate. Half the family had walked through the exit, but I asked for the bathroom. Was directed down a small hall and re-discovered the restrooms, gift shop and the whole museum! Half our family had already exited and couldn’t return! We SHOULD have been directed TO the bathrooms, informed of the museum and cooling spaces plus the gift shop by our guide! She should have said- it has been a wonderful experience showing you the upper spaces of the cathedral. If you follow this path to your left, you will find restroom and a wonderful museum space where you can read and learn even more about the history of Sagrada Família and its architects. Beyond that, you will find the gift shop and items for purchase. Instead, half of us felt rushed to use the restrooms, rush to the gift shop, grab a few items and get out fast to meet up with our family cooking in the sun. This was meant to be a grand moment to revisit a trip we had as college students. It was anticlimactic.

José was a wonderful tour guide. His knowledge and relaxed nature made the tour were a great balance. He knew when to provide insight and when to let the group take in the beauty. I would recommend booking a time slot near the middle of the day (1:30pm) in oder to see the sunlight travel through the stain glass windows on either side of the Basilica.
