Vertrek vanuit Rabo de Peixe, een van de meest authentieke vissershavens van de Azoren, en verken 2 uur lang een kustlijn die alleen over zee bereikbaar is. Je komt langs torenhoge vulkanische kliffen, verborgen grotten en rotsformaties waar geen enkele weg of pad je kan bereiken. Je eerste bezienswaardigheid is Areal de Santa Bárbara, het bekendste surfstrand van de Azoren, een heel ander perspectief vanaf het water. Verderop verschijnen verborgen grotten uitgehouwen in het vulkanische gesteente. Als de zee het toelaat, gaan we naar binnen, het soort moment dat iedereen verrast. Onze bemanning kent elke hoek bij naam. De Priesterrots, de Indische Rots, formaties die recht uit de oceaan oprijzen, elk met een verhaal. We bereiken Porto Formoso alvorens terug te keren. Tegen de tijd dat je van de boot stapt, heb je een kant van São Miguel gezien die de meeste bezoekers nooit zien.

Een van de meest unieke vissershavens van de Azoren. Kijk hoe lokale vissers hun boten voorbereiden, hun lijnen sorteren en de verse vangst, de echte Azoren, binnenbrengen voordat u de haven verlaat.
Een van de meest iconische surfstranden van de Azoren, die surfers van over de hele wereld naar Ribeira Grande trekt, de surfhoofdstad van de eilanden. Je zet geen voet op het zand, maar het zien vanaf het water geeft je een perspectief dat niemand op het strand ooit krijgt.
Ponta do Cintrão is een dramatische landtong aan de noordkust van São Miguel, met torenhoge kliffen, unieke lavaformaties en een panoramisch uitzicht op de oceaan. Het markeert een van de meest opvallende kustpunten van het eiland.
Santa Iria Port is een kleine, verborgen haven met kristalhelder water, ooit gebruikt door de lokale bevolking voor vissen en toegang tot de zee. Vandaag de dag is het een rustige, schilderachtige plek verscholen onder de Santa Iria kliffen.
Porto Formoso Port is een kleine, traditionele vissershaven genesteld in een schilderachtige baai, bekend om rustige wateren, kleurrijke boten, en de nabijheid van de beroemde theeplantages van het eiland.

despite the overcast sky, the tour was beautiful. Wish it was longer!! The captain of the boat was SUPER nice and took such good care of this lady who was throwing up multiple times.

The experience was great! The coastline and caves were amazing! We were even lucky enough to see dolphins! The gps took us a very peculiar way to get to the parking but the experience was well worth it!

It’s short enough that it doesn’t take the whole day and can plan other things, and you get a nice look at the north side of the island and the lava rocks/caves

This was such a fun part of our trip! We loved seeing the island from the boat. It was really cool to learn about some of the geology of the Azores. Our guide and captain were great and able to squeeze us into some of the caves which was so cool. Definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful experience on this boat tour. From start to finish, everything was very well organized. The meet-up, check-in, and safety briefing all went smoothly, and we felt well taken care of before we even left the port. The tour itself was fantastic. The scenery along São Miguel's north coast was absolutely breathtaking, with stunning views that you simply can't get from land. We were especially lucky with sea conditions, which were calm enough for us to enter a couple of the sea caves. That was definitely a highlight of the trip. Our guide shared interesting information and pointed out key sights without constantly talking, which allowed everyone to fully appreciate the beauty of the coastline. We also felt safe and comfortable on the boat throughout the tour. As my nine-year-old put it: "It was amazing! I liked the caves. And Captain Pedro was awesome."
