Hard experience, good adventure. The Guide, Kitambia, took good care of us (two persons); his team was kind and very helpful, special thanks to Samueli, waiter, cook Gidion, Baraka, John). Also Kennedy. Food, water, tools were safe and specially managed for us. Hardest part: the sleeping bags rented at Zara tours(at hotelin Moshi) for -30 C were of the worst quality, we had to sleep in the mountain with ALL our clothes on: gloves, merino, ski pants, feather jackets. We both got elevation sickness at Kibo Camp, my return was quickly arranged, my sister stayed longer, we are safe after all. Very nice stay at the hotel Springland: simple, clean, nice garden areas. Looking forward to the safari days ahead.
Highly recommend Zara Tours for climbing Kilimanjaro. I did the Rongai Gate Route over seven days. It was a nice quiet option compared to busier routes. Zara is very good value for money based on my research. Booked through a friend/rep of Zara in New Zealand. Springlands hotel is very nice too. On summit day, they added a porter so there was one staff/guides for each walker in case people needed to turn around. Picture with assistant guider, Winnie, who was great and took me all the way to the summit.
The Longai route is normally scheduled to last seven days, but at the end of day one we were able to change (negotiate?) it to five days. If you are struggling with your plans, I think it is worth negotiating at least once. In the first half, the walking distance was relatively short, and he said, "Couldn't we have shortened the schedule more?" You might think so, but the second half of the day I think I can't really work out my schedule any more (physically I'm going to use it quite hard), and the first half was a reasonable number of days considering the altitude adjustment. In fact, the 4800m (day three) also gives you headaches, and the five-day schedule is a great choice for those who want to climb as fast as possible and reach the summit safely. The guides and staff were well prepared, so I didn’t have to worry about anything else except my own physical condition.
Wonderful experience and a once in a lifetime vacation. The hotel has everything you need and all people in the staff are truly wonderful. A special thanks to Nor who welcomed us when we first arrived at the hotel. The hike from Rongai gate to the top was all we could have asked for. The guides Muhamed and Winnie are exceptional and very professional. So was the whole team and they made this journey so much easier with their peptalk and above all their humour that made us laugh hard so many times. We took a massage when we got back and my masseuse, Gladness, was fantastic and the body feels great.
I would recommend this tour anytime with Zara Tours. You feel super well taken care of. They'll go after you and make sure you're always okay. I had a great and unforgettable experience! Definitely worth an experience! Top.
Amazon trip with the best team from Zara tours. Kimolo and his team was so kind and helpful all the way. Would revisions everyone to choose this team!
I was on Kilimanjaro with the organization ZaraTours. It would take wonderful care of everything. In general, the organization before, during and after the trek was really good. Daily we cooked 3x fresh and during the hikes there were snacks and tea. It was also so much fun with my Porters and I felt really comfortable. I think with the right guides and porters, the trek can only be a positive experience. I'm grateful for this trip and everything
It was a really great experience, walking through very beautiful and very different terrain everyday. The guides were very experienced, and looked out for at always making sure we were doing well. And the food was actually very good and served rigt to our tent with good costumer service!

Excellent from A to Z!!! Super Guide New Year's Eve with great team! They took care of everything, tent excellent food, warmly welcomed me into the team - thank you very much for everything!!!!
My first attempt to climb Kilimanjaro in 2024 was aborted at 14,300 ft by high altitude pulmonary edema, a huge disappointment because this mountain had been my dream goal for decades. For my second attempt I changed to Zara, took Zara's advice to climb the Rongai route instead of Lemosho, hired a personal trainer to optimize my exercise, and even spent 10 days climbing in Colorado to begin acclimatization before flying to Tanzania. What really made a big big difference was Zara's wonderfully experienced guide Edwin. He observed my performance the first two days and changed my route on day 4 to a shorter and more direct one. When I got sick he told the cook to prepare a hot beverage that quickly revived me -- amazing. And he suggested an alternate schedule on summit day to make the climb easier for me. Edwin's close attention paid off. I was delighted when I succeeded finally in climbing Kilimanjaro. Kudos to Mooshi the cook who somehow prepared on the mountain many of the same tasty dishes as offered in the hotel - a huge help to me as I struggled to swallow enough calories despite loss of appetite at altitude. I looked forward to his tureens of soup at lunch and dinner.
